Computer Question - Flash

Does anybody know if there's an alternative to Flash for viewing video content? I have both a Mac and a PC and I do not have Flash installed on either. To me, Flash is just an enormous piece of crapware that slows down my computers so much I'd rather go without, but now I kind of need it.
In the past, I've installed it to view what I needed and then uninstalled it when I was done but now I'd rather just be able to view certain content without having to go through all that.

All depends on the content. If they have only made it available in flash format you will need flash to view it. A large majority of providers are switching to other formats or providing alternatives since mobile devices don't support flash.
Another alternative for you is to install the Google Chrome browser. It has flash built in so no need to do an additional install.
