More like whispers in corners and odd looks than losing your job. There is a looooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnng history of this kind of thing going on in academia (especially my discipline, sociology). But as long as the student is an adult and not actively in his classes, the universities can really do no more than just put on a frowny face. Besides, in this case, academia has already made so many exceptions for Jack, what is one more? He's a rainmaker, so the University lets him pretty much do what he wants.
