Stumbled across a pretty cool app called sportacular that lets you pick your favorite teams across all sports, and track em online with real-time stats and alerts. It has real time Big Sky stats, and even integrates itself with Facebook. It's pretty sweet and will come in handy on game day when I'm dying to get the latest scores from around the conference..

I noticed that there are nearly 200 people who've picked the outcome of the MSU vs. SAC game, and around 83% think we'll win.


Any cool apps out there that anyone else has found? Of course, Tapatalk is a must for us BN'ers with smartphones!

You probably already know about this, but one of my favorites is my radio app (the one I use is called WunderRadio, but there are lots of others to choose from). They're not free; in fact, as iPhone apps go, they're on the expensive side (I think I paid about $10 for it), but it allows me to listen to about 30,000 radio stations worldwide via an internet feed. I use it to listen to Griz games when I'm out and can't watch them online.

Thanks for the tip on wunder radio, GL. I had not heard of it, and didn't even think about a streaming radio app.

Yep. I use ooTunes for the same purpose. The nice thing about ooTunes, is that if you desire a radio station to be added, you simply send the creator an e-mail and as quickly as within 20 minutes he adds it. I listen to Griz pre and post game shows right from the Missoula station while in Seattle.

Also, the ESPN app is great for sports fans.

Since the topic is apps, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the Excel app by DataViz and if it's worth the $10 they charge for it.

That DataViz app is a good one. However it is included in Android 2.2 free.

Phone must be rooted for these:

1) Autokiller - kills tasks not in use after a given time and sets parameters for CPU usage (makes it run faster and makes the battery last longer)

2) Wifi tether- turns your phone into a Wifi hotspot using the phone's network.
