Sounds like a terrific guy. I feel bad for his daughter.

Here's what's odd, though. He was convicted of murder in 1980; sentenced to 50 years in prison; yet he has a high-school aged daughter. I'm hoping it's a step daughter. Or he didn't spend much time in prison.

That is strange. Maybe he and his daughter's mother were allowed conjugal visits?

I haven't given much thought to Montana's criminal code since law school, but as I recall the rule of thumb is that with parole, good behavior, etc. it is possible in Montana to be released from prison after about 1/4 of your actual sentence. So if he was sentenced to 50 years, it's possible he may have gotten out by, say, 1993.

I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.
