Yeah first you get hooked on your iPod, next you will start looking at Apple computers!!
I considered buying an Apple, that is when I knew the iPod had really revolutionized this gadget dork.
I have the first version of the iPod and we now have an iPod mini as well. Just a few bits of advice for you as you start to use your iPod more.
For in car use over FM get the Griffin iTrip(unless you want to spend $100, then there is a better solution) I have gone through 3 FM Transmitters and that one is by far the best for quality(least user friendly interface) If you want something simple to use but not as great of quality get the iRock. Belkin makes one that is garbage.
Also, I would recommend if you spend a lot of time in the car with your iPod to buy an Alpine deck and the iPod interface for it, it is great! You can control your iPod from the deck itself.

I use my ipod for 65% music and 35% as an external HD, with USB 2.0 file transfer is extremely fast. It's great for storing media, games, and transferring files to other pc's. Plus it's a hell of an MP3 player.
