In Montana, we can get snow storms as early as the middle of October, and spring squalls as late as the middle of April.
Back in 2008, it snowed once in June. Rode my longboard to class, in shorts and a t-shirt, started snowing at noon, and by 2-3pm there was 2-3" of snow on the ground.
Made for a cold walk home
I remember the first day of classes in August 1992, it snowed like 8 inches.....
I remember that storm! I was pretty young - I'm 30 - but that snowstorm almost completely destroyed my dad's crop of 2nd cutting alfalfa. Laid it down almost flat. Was a real pain to cut that!
On the evening of Tuesday June 11, 2001 - snowed 8 inches in the Paradise Valley (S of Livingston). My cousin was FREAKING out because her wedding was scheduled for that Saturday. Thankfully the snow all melted off and it ended up being nice weather (and due to the moisture, very green!).
I've seen snow every month of the year.

Actually I think it would have been Mon-Tues, June 4th-5th, 2001 when that snow fell. We were living in Missoula and my son was born Friday, June 1st. Came home from the hospital on Sunday and had to return to the hospital the following morning Monday June 4th. We could barely get into Community Medical Center's parking lot because the trees were so weighed down with the wet snow. So I assume that same storm dropped snow the 4th/5th on the central/east part of the state. I don't remember a subsequent storm. But there may have been.

As far as the kid, I heard she was going to UM anyway.[/quote]
As Burt Reynold's college roommate would say: "Not so fast my friend!" She may spend some time there, but it will be on her nickel! Then, the Rodney Atkins line will hit her: "Till they threw us out into the world." Then, it will be of a school of her dear old dad's choice. And she will major in something that will afford her an opportunity to get a job. And pays close to what a Montana Tech grad starts at on the salary scale.

Lee Corso and Burt Reynolds were roommates? Ha! I wonder what they think of their alma mater's QB.

I miss listening to Steve Spurrier's show when he was coaching Florida! He depicted FSU really accurately. The entire town and campus is a farce and laughable (not unlike most state capital cities) but it has the added advantage of being somewhat like Lincoln, Nebraska. The people in and around those communities seem to feel since they write the laws, they are exempt from normalized behaviors.
I still have a lot of fun reading about all the crap (and the double standard) student athletes are held to in and around the country anymore.
