Help

Post by gocats » Tue Apr 23, 2013 10:02 am

I bought a Ruger 40 cal pistol. My wife and I are delivering the Billings Gazette to all the dealers and racks in Bozeman and Belgrade every night around 3 am. I'm also collecting money out of them at the same time 3-4 times a month, usually around $1500-$2000. I have been walked.up on by homeless people and drunk college.kids a few times, and It's going to get worse as the weather warms up.
My question is, where is a good.place to go around Bozeman/Livingston for a little target practice. I know about the place.up Hyalite but the road is closed until after the spring run off and I don't want to pay to go to the Logan gun range. We are going to Libby in a few weeks and I can fire it up there but I don't want to wait that long.
Help me out Cat fans.

Thanks LTCF. I thought there was an indoor range somewhere, but I couldn't think of where.

What's weird is they don't allow FMJ or JHP ammo. If you read your gun warranty, it likely says that you must always shoot jacketed ammo. I think there is an outdoor pistol range in Manhattan though.

Yea, I've been to Logan a long time ago, but someone told me they are expensive as hell now. I'm thinking more of a place in the mtns you can drive up and fire off a few rounds.

Suprinsing at it might seem the grip that you should use for your semi automatic is different than that for a revolver. Get some shooting lessons and a concealed carry permit.

We used to go up to Hylite all the time during college and pick a random hill that was safe to shoot at. Man, I miss college sometimes

That is odd that you can't shoot FMJ. That is all I can find for my 9mm. At the indoor range here in Billings, they require only FMJ. I like the pricing at the Gallatin range. The indoor range in Billings is pricier

I wonder what their reasoning is.

The jacket seals in the lead and the lead dust, keeps the air quality in the indoor range safe to breathe.

So now we have two very good reasons to not understand their policy of no jacketed ammo.
