f-15 jets

Post by mickle » Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:52 pm

usually i find it so impressive when you are at a game and the usaf sends a pair of f-15's fighter jets to make a low pass over the field just before kickoff, full power, lite the burners, climb and split. at the weber state game, i was somewhat disappointed that they used a significantly reduced power setting, nose high, slower speed, than they have done in the past. maybe they have to comply with some noise abatement restrictions, i dont know. being a private pilot it was obvious to me. oh well, i am just happy to see the cats doing so well. we have a great chance to knock the griz off in their house! i believe we will get it done.

Yeah it was still cool, but if your going to have a fly bye show the power of the US Air Force baby! It was nothing like that F15's last year for Cat/Griz that was a stadum rattler! :)

It's too bad that they are doing away with the F15's at MANG. It makes me mad that they put all that money in at Gore Hill only to pull the mission...$$$$$$$$

Chester has a source inside the DOD that has access to some photos of the new F22 (that will be replacing the F15) as they were being delivered to Langley. In the email, the source, told chester that the FA22 has a "black out button" which means that if the enemy fires a missile at the plane, the pilot can hit the "b.o.b" and the plane will automatically make a virtual U-turn that can pull 22Gs... no missile can turn at that rate and therefore will miss the target. the pilot will blackout seeing at the "best" can only handle about 15Gs... but no worries, the plane will fly auto until the pilot returns. cool stuff. USA! USA! USA!
