work from home jobs...

Post by whitetrashgriz » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:45 am

so, i am constantly getting spam emails about jobs working from my home that make so much money. i always delete them without thought because they are so ridiculous. saying people are making thousands a month by sitting at home. however, i remember my second year in college and a friend of mine was doing some sort of online work from home and was doing pretty well. not so well that he bought a house in malibu like many of the websites claim, yet well enough where he didn't have to work much like the rest of us saps! :D so after deleting the latests offer i recieved this morning to work from home it had me wondering, have any of you ever found anything online working from home that was legit and you actaully made a little extra cach? i wouldn't say i'm actually looking for this type of side job, i'm just more curious if they are all pretty much scams, or if there are any legit ones out there?

I would say that NONE of these are legit. If you want to work from home it is best to find a carreer in a field that allows you to work at home. I have been a consultant for 20 years. My job requires me to be on sight but many of my friends have consulting businesses that they do from home. Many computer/software jobs, regulatory jobs, market research, etc. allow you to work from home and make a very good living. People are basically lazy so if there was a way to work from home for a few hours a day (as these ads claim) everyone would be doing it and the market would quickly become saturated.

ya that's always been my take on it too. but it seems as though these emails are tripling! so i was curious if that just means that there are more suckers out there buying into these, or if there were actually some out there that were legit and that's why there seems to be so many more. personally between work, kids, and school i'm pretty busy but i have just been curious why there seems to be so many more of these "jobs" these days.

I have found one that is totally legit. If you'll PM me the routing number and account number for your checking account, I'll withdraw a $20 service fee and send you a brochure that details the entire thing. ;)

I won't need to work at all much longer.

I got me a deal with a guy in Zaire who has connections with the British Consolate. I just need to sit back and wait on my $12 million Pounds to arrive. So I got that going for me....

exactly! you guys are proving just what i assumed everyone already knew. so how come there are so many of these "online jobs" nowadays? does that just mean that there are way more idiots out there than i even imagined. obviously someone is making money off of these scams, and then others follow their lead. as of right now i think i have about 10 companies whose emails go right to my spam folder yet i swear to god i get a new one popping up every week. :x

Before I sold my share of the business, we used to frequently hire stay at home mothers to answer our phones and take reservations for us. It wasn't 100% ideal all the time, but it worked well enough, since the day to day office duties could easily be handled with a cell phone, laptop, and a notebook. We never advertised the position online though.

when we took the kids trick or treating this halloween we came to a house and when the lady opened the door there were a ton of little stuffed mice on a table in the livingroom. i asked he what they were for and she said she worked for a local pet toy business that allowed her to work at home. if i remember she stuffed catnip in them and i think did something else to them and made like 20 cents a piece. something like that. i remember it seeming like a ripoff but still i had never heard of anything like that.

Chester works from home. His main source of income is sending out emails to people, whos address he got from a multiple of sources, telling them how easy it is to work from home, for just a couple hours a day and make huge bank in the process. The way he gets paid will remain a secret. In fact, Chester is doing so well that he has hired a small team of people to send out even more emails with different (yet similar) claims to cover more potential clients and to bombard the same emails multiple times.

I don't get many emails for online work from home jobs, but apparently I have a huge prescription pill problem and one heck of a serious case of erectile disfunction. Because that is all I get are ads for Viagra and Cialis.

With the economy problems it is easy pickings for these companies. When you are making a good living you look at these ads and laugh but when you are getting desperate for money you start to think different and you can talk yourself into almost anything!
