Myself...resisted the invitations (numerous) to become a buff. Mainly didn't want to do the initiation. However I never seemed to be in want of a cold beer!

I am a Sigma Chi, sir. I live across the green! I'm also a member of the Zero's the "ultra secret" society within the Beta Rho Chapter. I'm dating myself, but my pledge quarter was the fall the Cats won the title. Oh Yeah!

Fun days those were, I even remember some of them! :suds:
I, too, am a member of those aforementioned Zeroes. I can't imagine it was as bad for me as it was for you. It weakened over the years, I can tell you that much!

I was joking about the super secret part. I don't know that it's ever been too secret. At least after activation I know the meaning of life, and where to find it

Now, pass me some cheerios!

I remember..sorta, the Buff Olympics and boat races. Also, some of the nastiest things I have ever heard about seemed to usually occur at a Buff formal. [-X

Also a fellow Zero and Life Loyal Sig. My wife, who is a Lil Sigma, is also a zero as are all of her brothers. The only thing I remember about that day was running around Betty's house. I still have my shirt.

I was tapped into the Buffs in 78 or 79 ( I'm a little hazy on the year). At that time the head of the financial aid dept was an alum of my house as well as a Buff alum. He helped me get a grant that I probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
The night that we found out that we were going to be Les Bouffons, We were blindfolded, taken up to the M, drank a lot, learned the Buff song, stripped to our underwear, and had big black B painted on our chests. We were left to hitchhike back into town. A couple of guys got into town and brought cars for the rest of us. We then crashed an AGR party in our skivies proudly wearing our B's.
Whiskey Night and Tap In came on the following weeks.

From what I can recall, Buffs was a helluva lot of fun. Whiskey night excluded.

I was initiated in 93 or 94.
