The arguments in this sequence are simply too easy and predicable, and unfortunately an accurate snapshot of the state of the current national partisanship. Complete waste of time and energy.

Personally, I hope Cheney and 34 other house Republicans can continue to make a move to the center. There are many moderate Democrats ready to join the cause. With a legitimate 3rd party you need only 40% at most to win elections. Let's get it done.

Cheney/(TBD Bluedog Dem) 2024
Got my vote.

Signed,
Proud RINO
But can one candidate get the needed 270 Electoral votes?
Nope. I think it goes to the House for a vote, but only one vote per state. Not sure on this and didn't look it up. If that's the case, I still think a right leaning moderate takes it.

If this starts to become commonplace, we may get an amendment. Something needs to happen. We're broken.
I was wondering about going to the House for a vote. I DO NOT want the Electoral College to go away.
We'll agree to disagree on that 😁. Nonetheless, the simplest course is to pass an amendment to say the leading candidate in the electoral college wins. Period. If there's a tie it goes to the House per the current rules.

I agree with Catbot. Any idea why 270 exists anyway?

Whitmer - Future campaign slogans: “The rules don’t apply to me” or “do as I say, not as I do”.

If a legitimate 3rd party were to develop; I think you would have to dismantle the Electoral College.

Sorry, I thought I had deleted that. I only found links the gave the basic website and not the electoral college link... The history.com, bustle.com, etc was all that would post.

Basically it is 435+100+3... The House, the Senate and DC.

Again, sorry for that.

Now if someone would say a honest investigation. This is just another way of going after Trump.

A bipartisan commission reviewing an insurrection is going after Trump? The commission should clear Trump of any wrongdoing.

I believe the investigation legislation was written by a Republican, right?

Someone posted the video in one of these threads. I’ll see if I can find it.

Do the investigation. Republicans should embrace it. There is absolutely nothing to hide. Let the Democrats spend another $10 million and find zero - just like Russia. It will be another complete sh1t show and Democrats will lose more credibility in the public.

Agreed. Too bad republican leadership doesn’t share the same view.

yes, my thoughts exactly. Just like the audits, etc on the election. Don't know why the dems are trying to stop it. Couldn't be they have something to hide...

He hits a couple sour notes in there, but you gotta give him credit for the effort no matter what side of the aisle you're on.

AOC claims it was Trumps fault that her grandmother didn’t get her roof repaired in Puerto Rico. In response, a conservative commentator raises $100,000 overnight for AOC grandmother. But AOC’s team says they wanly accept the money.
