Gallatin County population growth

Post by iaafan » Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:41 am

Gallatin County will soon be the second largest, by population, county in Montana. From 2011 to now it has grown from 91,377 to 114,434 (those are estimates). It will pass Missoula County, which has grown from 112,684 to 119,600 in the same time frame in about 5 years.

In just the past two years Bozeman has added a new AA high school, Belgrade has moved up to AA. I believe Manhattan will be A within the next 10 years.

Iaa,

Do you know if these numbers include second homes and or partial year residents? Does it include the campus's?

The Gallatin county number seems small to me, huge growth for sure, was just thinking it would be higher.

Thanks for posting

2010 - Gallatin County 89,651; Missoula County 109,466. Difference = 19,815
2020 (est.) - Gallatin County 118,316; Missoula County 120,647. Difference = 2,331

My guess:
2021 - Gallatin County 122,000; Missoula County 122,000.

In 1980 the population of Gallatin County was 42,865; Missoula County was 76,016. Took 30 years to make up 14,000, but just 12(?) to make up 20,000.
