Ah yes, the old "taking American jobs" line.

That idea is based on the misconception that the labor market responds to the laws of supply and demand the same way that other markets do. It doesn't. Labor is unique, because "labor supply" is actual people. Increasing the "labor supply" in a region increases the demand for all other goods and services in that region, because there are now more people around to buy them. This prevents wages from crashing.

Well, having lived in california from 46 to 70-82 to 17 there are good reasons why people had left the once golden state. It ain't golden any more. We could not flee soon enough. And with the exception of family and old friends have ZERO desire to visit.
