From what I can tell on the SWX schedule it doesn't look like it.

They beat Eastern Washington last night 5-1 and play Dakota College Bottineau tonight

Here's a hockey team update. Not a lot happened due to a long Christmas break. UGF is the 2nd team in the west, while MSU is 4th.

Bobcats lost it 3-1 The 3rd period had been scoreless, Bobcats pulled the goalie at about one minute to go and it wasn't long till providence put one in the empty net. Not sure if the Cats have another game in this tournament or not. Providence moves on to the championship game against the winner of U Mary and Utah state I think.

The MSU Hockey team has it home opener tonight against the Griz. With no football game today this could be a chance to get your Cat fix in!

We also have a D-3 level mens team and they beat Idaho as well as a womens club team but I don't think they've played any games yet.

Not that we need any help, but too bad this doesn't count for the annual BOTW trophy.

After the mens team won the Mountain West Collegiate Hockey League tournament last weekend they earned an autobid to the western regional tournament. The final season rankings came out today and MSU is seeded 4th (Providence College in Great Falls is seeded 3rd). MSU will get a bye in the first round and will play their first game of the tournament on Friday the 25th at 3:30.

The Cats are rolling. Coach Weaver and Kamman are building a high quality team here in Bozeman. They deserve our attention and support.

Agree....And they are making a huge financial sacrifice to play.
Player dues vary by season and includes all expenses (jerseys, uniforms, hotel, travel, food, etc) and payment plans will be offered. Players should expect to pay roughly $2,400 and be responsible for $500 of fundraising.

The first round of the Western Regional tournament just finished up so now we know that the Cats will play Texas A&M tomorrow at 3:30. The game can be streamed on hockeytv.com, however it does need a subscription. The top two teams out of this tournament will qualify for Nationals in St. Lious which means if the Cats can beat the Aggies tomorrow and then win again on Saturday they will punch their ticket to the national tournament.

Yesterday was a great day of the regional tournament. Cats scored with 0:44 left in the game to beat Texas A&M 4-3. Weber State fell to UCLA 6-3 and University of Providence (Great Falls) beat Loyola Marymount 6-4.

Cats now play Metro State (Denver) at 1:30 today and on the other side of the bracket University of Providence will play against UCLA at 10:00. Since the top two teams from this tournament advance to nationals whichever teams win these two games will qualify for that tournament.
