Congratulation to our athletes, coaches and those involved in the classroom success of our student-athletes. The combined teams GPA for the last semester was above a 3.0 for the 14 consecutive semester! Included are 22 perfect GPA's. I know there is an NCAA requirement regarding the progression of scholarship athletes toward graduation and we have lost scholarships due to our failure to meet the objective.
Anyone know if we've lost any in other sports? Are we clearly on the road of putting this issue behind us? I know these classroom success stories can be deceiving. I recall a few years ago when Ryan Johnson was winning every academic award available the football team was losing nearly everyone in an entire recruiting class.
