McMahon sitting out as a precaution according to the TV broadcast. It doesn't appear that they'll need him, the Griz beat these guys by 65 on Monday.

Looks like he's on the bench in sweats. Hopefully a minor issue...but dang that's concerning.

I hope our new center Chris Hodges is having as much fun as I think he is. Barely played at Wisconsin but was loyal to that program. Now he's here as a grad transfer and dunking all over the place. He looks like he'll be a very good Big Sky player.

This kind of game makes me wish that the NCAA would institute a redshirt rule for basketball similar to the football rule that allows players to participate in a certain number of games and still retain the redshirt year. This would be a great chance to get all the true freshmen some game action.

Final is 114-44. For the sake of comparison, the Griz beat NWIC 106-41 on Monday.

I say, don't worry about redshirt years as you never know if the player decides to stay. If they want to redshirt, redshirt them, if they want to play garbage time and ruin their extra years, play them. As long as the coach explains to them their options and what is best for them, leave it to the player to decide what they want. You aren't wrong though, what is good for one sport should also be good for another sport.

McMahon has tendinitis and was just being given a rest. He'll play Sunday.

Hopefully Coach Logie is having those conversations with the incoming freshmen and perhaps that would explain why one of them played tonight and the other two didn't. Just seems unfair that football players get their own special deal that doesn't apply to other sports.

This team looks strong this year. Excellent outside shooting from the three point line and excellent ball movement and player movement. Our two bigs, Waka and Chris, look like they’ll hold down the paint closer to what we’ve had with guys like Jubrile and Great in years past.

They’ll be tested hard in these next few weeks, but if they continue to gel and play like this, I’m not sure that middle of the Big Sky is where we’ll end up come March - like the preseason polls have predicted.

Is Amunrud being redshirted? I was surprised to see him in sweats too.

I don't believe so, it was said in another thread that he's currently recovering from a sprained ankle.

I fully agree. Assuming a healthy year, we could easily be in the dance again.
