Wow, a great in-state commit from class B state champs Baker! She must be the best player in all Montana for the junior class. Good on CoachBin for picking up Montana talent.

Very excited about this commitment. I have seen her play several times at summer tournaments and at the class B state tournament. She has the potential to be a great player at the college level.

On a side note, she also has a sister a year younger who is very impressive.

Amazing to me how much D-1 women’s basketball talent there is in this state. This year and next have some incredible players coming out.

Awesome! Anyone know if Madison is any relation to former Bobcat football player Ty O'Connor? I believe he was from the same part of the state.

She for sure is. That’s her uncle. Her mom is Sheila Hutchinson who many remember played for the Cats back in the early 2000s. She was very good player.

Sheila? No wonder. This girl has genes. Sheila was one of the most aggressive and effective guards you will ever see. Good job, Coach Binford.

Sheila just missed playing for Binford, right? That would have been something if Binford coached both a mother and daughter at MSU.

Yeah without looking, it was probably only by a year or two. Poterra-Haskins left in what 2003?

Binford's first season was 2005-06. If I remember correctly, Potera left after the '03-'04 season and then they had an interim coach for a year before Binford was hired.

O’Connor is a daaaawwwwg! She will come in and start right away. Best in-state player in 20 years at least.

Seen her play twice against my Columbus Cougars. We beat Baker when she was a freshman, but as a sophomore they destroyed us at divisionals. We open the season against them this Friday in Lewistown. Very talented. Doesn't play with much discipline IMO as a high schooler but the talent is beyond doubt. Great get.

What does that mean..."Doesn't play with much discipline.."? Does that mean she gets out of control at times, or forces a few shots? If so, I'll take that player every day. I would want someone who pushes the ball up the court. If they commit one turnover, but cause 3....sign 'em up. (That might be my Rez ball background showing through....score more points than the other team and you win every time)

If it means that she's a hot-head and gets a technical foul every game, or lets opponents get under her skin.....that's something else, entirely.

Assuming she’s like her mom (who did play for Potera) she’s all gas, no brakes. Sheila created a buzz every time she entered a game. Stuff was going to start happening. Very athletic and quick. I remember her well.

Better than the player from Fairfield who started at Gonzaga, played with Laura Stockton? Jill Barta?

Not better than Barta. Completely different style of player than Ferris but I'd take Ferris. Taking nothing away from O'Connor. Wonderfully gifted. I'd put her at Chirricks level.
