Lea Boulanger Transfer

I don't remember this being posted but Lea Boulanger a 6-2 freshman forward has transferred to Bishop's University in Quebec Canada
I believe the roster has been set at 15. We are just waiting for the announcement.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 4:29 pmThis was mentioned in another thread, but probably not a bad idea to start a new one for those who missed it. It will be interesting to see what the roster for next year looks like when it gets posted, if my math is correct MSU is currently one over the maximum roster size given the announced signings and departures so far.
I figured that was the case. There must be one departure that hasn't been announced yet then, as they had 15 on the roster last year and at this point the incoming players (Chirrick, Erickson, Harris, Morales, Robbins) outnumber the known departing players (Hall, Olson, Egan, and Boulanger) by one.mslacat wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 7:47 pmI believe the roster has been set at 15. The updated roster has finally been posted at msubobcats.com and Lindsey Hein is not listed. So I'd assume she's that last departing player to get to the 15 roster size.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 8:43 pmI figured that was the case. Yes Lindsey had to retire for health reasons. I understand she is staying with the team in a student assistant role. She is a super sweet young woman.arvcat2 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 4:36 amThe updated roster has finally been posted at msubobcats.com and Lindsey Hein is not listed. New jersey numbers are #8 for Hannah Robbins (yes this is a legal number now), #12 for Esmeralda Morales, #23 for Teagan Erickson, #33 for Addison Harris, and #44 for Taylee Chirrick.
Rats. She had some good moments last year and was only going to get better. I'll never forget her battles as a Forsyth Dogie against my Columbus Cougars. Best wishes to her.HelenaCat wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 8:53 amYes Lindsey had to retire for health reasons. I understand she is staying with the team in a student assistant role. Why are they getting New Jersey #s? This is Montana not new jersey....MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:57 pmThe online roster has now been fully updated other than photos for the incoming players. She is a great kid, I'm sorry to hear this. I bumped into her at the gym a year or two ago and told her I knew her mom a little bit from coaching, and that I was excited to see her career develop. I didn't want to bug her or act like a creepy middle aged guy talking to women in the gym, so I said my thing and was ready to walk away. She was very nice and wanted to chat a little more. I'm glad she's staying involved--I think she's a great asset to the program even if she can't play anymore.HelenaCat wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 8:53 amYes Lindsey had to retire for health reasons. Forgive my ignorance, but why wasn't 8 a legal number?MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:57 pmThe online roster has now been fully updated other than photos for the incoming players. Up until last season, the rules for NCAA basketball were that players could only wear jersey numbers using the digits 0 through 5, so #8 or #16 or #77 wouldn't have been allowed. Before last season the rule was changed to match the NBA and players can now wear any number from 0 through 99. The only rule now is that you can have a #0 or a #00 but not both.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:33 pmForgive my ignorance, but why wasn't 8 a legal number?MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:57 pmThe online roster has now been fully updated other than photos for the incoming players. As for the why on the rule, it has to do with the hand mechanics of the referee signaling player numbers to the score keeper. It’s definitely not impossible, but it is much more difficult to differentiate between numbers like 8 and 35 when signaling.MSU01 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 1:59 pmUp until last season, the rules for NCAA basketball were that players could only wear jersey numbers using the digits 0 through 5, so #8 or #16 or #77 wouldn't have been allowed.
