WBB vs PSU in Boise

Post by WYCAT » Sun Mar 05, 2023 3:49 pm

Awful start for the ladies. 1-10 from the field with a bunch of turnovers. Down 15-5 early.

Why am I not surprised? This is the team on Senior Night that scored 25 in the first quarter and barely scratched in the 2nd.

But the one thing you knew you had to do against PSU was to guard the perimeter yet not doing so. Yet anyway.

Got absolutely clapped that half. Down 35-26 at halftime. We shot 7-29 overall and 2-12 from 3. PSU was hot from deep. They made 9-18 from 3. Maybe we should think about guarding the 3? I don't know, just a thought. Most looks were wide open.

Miracle that they are only down 9 at half.

I see the halftime adjustments aren't working. Any chance we get a NIT invite? Asking for a friend

The ladies look to be burned out on the season. Sad.

They really do. Getting worked in almost every area, same as against EWU.

I felt like this season that having a bad night was going to cost you no matter who you played. Very competitive league.

The Cats haven’t consistently shot the ball well for most of the season or someone we can rely on from 3 point line.

Back to the drawing board

Same goes for Men’s side of bracket.

I don’t see any lack of effort. They just can’t get in sync.

Wow, what a way to end the season. Reminds me of the tournament in Reno several years ago. I flew down there and both teams were one and done. Hopefully the men will show up tonight. I always feel sorry for all the fans who make the investment in time and money to travel to this tournament when this happens. PSU completely dominated this game, from shooting to coaching.

The sad thing is, the MSU women started becoming competitive in the league JUST when the Big Sky stopped allowing the regular season champion to host the tournament. UM used to make a living off of its teams hosting the Big Sky in Missoula. I don't think the women are interested in playing any more basketball this year. Probably not a good idea to play in the WNIT even if it's offered.

They haven’t been in synch most of the season.

Deden’s face on the bench was the exclamation point. I can’t remember seeing a face so dejected.

They're getting trucked! Doesn't matter where the tourney is..... they don't deserve to win! Talent is there..... toughness...... isn't. They shouldn't got to the NIT..... they should go home! This isn't a cupcake league anymore

Hell of a game by PSU, to go from 0-20 to the Big Sky semifinals is amazing. Congrats to them and a huge thanks to the MSU seniors who have to be dejected beyond words right now with how the season ended. Lots of great wins and great memories though!

There was a definite lack of chemistry. I have my thoughts but nothing to back then up.

Tough game to watch. They really seemed off the last couple weeks, and PSU couldn’t miss from three. Thank you seniors, you gave us a lot to cheer about during your careers.

Lack of a team effort……. It became about individuals. Binford didn’t have them ready for March! Too much talent to lose in your first game of the tourney. I love Darian, but when you’re not making shots, pass the damn ball! This conference is getting strong……. Got to wake up and recruit talent and toughness. Some of our players are just soft. Dykstra needs to be on the court!!

Didn't we beat PSU by 30 a week ago? In Portland?
