This PSU/UNC game is being played at an incredibly fast pace. It would be a shame if whoever wins tires themselves out for tomorrow night.

UNC Bears it is for MSU. I thought Portland St. might have been a bit more dangerous. Northern Colorado seems to have a lot of talent, but their stats on defense and free-throw shooting are quite abysmal. If MSU plays it’s usual level of defense, and is efficient on three-point shooting, they’ll be movin’ on. 💙 💛 😺

What do you guys and gals who watched the game live think?

I was hoping Portland State would have pulled it out. One of their bigs, Jacob Eyman, was in street clothes (injury?) so they would have had even more trouble than usual against Belo and Osobor. The good news was it was a helter skelter game with lots of bodies hitting the floor and a lot of running around. So the Bears should be tired.

Northern Colorado's guards are no joke. If they're all hot they can beat anybody. We all saw them rip up Weber State in Greeley not long ago. Kountz, Johnson, and Knecht are really good players. They have two big guys, Wisne and Hughes. Hughes is from England. He didn't play much against PSU presumably because of matchups. They will hack Belo and Osobor a lot. If the refs let them play it could get ugly inside.

The early men's game was really good. NAU avoided their horrible luck and put Idaho away, but it was back and forth all game long. If Idaho ever gets good and puts together a run it will light this tournament up. They had a lot of fans at the game and they were loud-even for a last place team with an interim coach. It made for a pretty great atmosphere. But they all left as soon as the Vandals lost and probably won't be back the rest of the week. Idaho State doesn't support their team nearly as well.

For both men's and women's teams it comes down to: 1. Playing really intense D to stop open perimeter looks
2. Perimeter shooting. Will we hit a decent percentage of our 3s?
3. Will we shoot a good percentage from the FT line?
4. Tough boxing out and rebounding.
5. Will we have decent refs that do not try to take over the game with ticky tacky calls?

EWU is bounced by NAU on a 3 at the buzzer. Wow!

😲

So now EWU knows how it feels to be NAU. that was a hell of a shot.

So hi gang, going to try and watch the game. Anyone on the ESPN+ stream? It isn’t showing up on the schedule. Is that usual for BB?

The games are always there but sometimes require a little digging. Two hints. Make sure MSU MBB and MSU WBB are set under your favorites. That will help them show up at the beginning of the Live/Upcoming list. If you don’t see them there, or are watching later, scroll down to where the conferences are listed and choose Big Sky — fortunately it starts with a B and not a Z. 💙 💛 😺

NAU MBB made Sports Center Top 10 no. 1 again, but this time they were on the winning side. It was an amazing game all the way. Here's the last shot:

They must have a record for making Sports Center with buzzer-beater involvement. The RaeQuan Battle shot and the Portland touch shot were both more amazing than this one, which also deserved Sports Center.

Can any of you Twitter folks find and post Mitch Strohman's call of this sequence? Would love to hear it. Maybe instead of "3-shot, BANG!", it's "3-shot, BOOM!"??

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m hoping for a cat-griz matchup in the chipper!

Weber looks great tonight, our Cats will need to play their best tomorrow to even get that far! Griz fans can officially stop complaining about MSU's 2021 football playoff bracket after they get to play defense-optional ISU and the #9 seed to get to the title game.
