Sprinkle rumors to U of San Diego

Even if this is false, and he doesn't take any job this offseason it really only is a matter of time with Sprinkle unfortunately, unless somehow MSU can offer him some big $ but I don't think money is what Sprinkle ultimately wants, I think he wants to be a big time coach.

I agree Coach Sprink wants to be a big time coach...but why not at MSU? Coach Few has built Gonzaga into a powerhouse over 2 decades....I think MSU can become a mid-major power too....

It would also take a big financial commitment from the school and community too. That hasn’t happened yet but could in the future. Money, money, money means success.

Same here. I’ve rarely purchased lottery tickets in the past but I purchase a ticket at least once a month now in hopes that I can be MSUs sugar daddy someday.

One bit of good news I guess is that of the schools on this list, two of them (La Tech and NMSU) made hires that are not the person speculated here as the favorite! We will see, one has to imagine a decision is coming soon one way or the other.

Well, the coach Sprinkle was being compared to (James Jones of Yale) been in his current job since 1999 with 3 NCAA appearances, while Danny has been in his current job since 2019 and has 1 NCAA appearance. If Sprinkle was called a cheaper alternative it's because that's undoubtedly true based on where each coach is in his career progression. I doubt Sprinkle would take offense at a random person on Twitter using the phrase.

Was digging to see if there was more to find on this, and found this (unrelated) but pretty cool. ESPN ranked the tournament coaches as players, Coach Sprinks pops in at 16 out of 68.

It is strange that Sprinkle doesn’t have more endorsement deals. The community is booming and you would think that some businesses would jump all over an opportunity to sign him to an endorsement deal. A gym like The Pit or The Ridge would be great fits. Maybe a car dealership like Ressler Cadillac? These would be ways to boost his earnings and keep him here

This job hunt he is doing does make me question his passion for MSU a bit. But at the end of the day this is probably more of a business decision. If you could be paid double to do the exact same job you are doing today, but it is in southern CA. Would you take it???

You'd have to pay me more than double to live there, but I happen to know Danny likes southern CA. A step up in the level of competition, twice the money, live in a place he loves? I'm hoping he feels like he has more to prove here and wants a little bigger step up, but I would be really surprised if he's still in Bozeman a couple years from now.

He already does a commercial for a local athletic club and I know he gets the free use of a car. It would be nice to see more businesses step up though.
