Re: WBB at Stanford NCAA tournament
We are going to need much more than prayer. I hope we can hang around for a quarter but I don't see how we don't get blown out. After all, we were often out rebounded by Big Sky teams and Stanford will be bigger, stronger and more skilled. Great year ladies, and I hope I'm wrong, but this will be over quickly.

If we never miss there won't be any rebounds to be had!84CatGrad wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 1:47 pmWe are going to need much more than prayer. At 30.5 pts underdogs, I like the Cats to cover.

Re: WBB at Stanford NCAA tournament
I’ve watched Stanford a lot in the past, and have always enjoyed their spacing and precision play execution. And if they have the 3-pt shooters they can really go bombs away on you.
PAC-12 is a whole different style of basketball, in large part I think to the superior athletes and in some cases better coaching. We’ve simply got to not start playing like we’re in our home conference, which means constant “physicality” which means fouling. We’ve got to keep our hands off and not reach if someone dribbles past in the key. The play will be physical, but that means bigger, faster, stronger — not more gruesome over-the-shoulder flips like Idaho executed on Lexi Deden. We’ll represent well if we can stay out of foul trouble. If not, we might not cover the spread. If our 10-player rotation can keep rotating it will help us, although the starters may have to play longer stints. It’s a great opportunity. We’ve got more height or length or whatever than in the past, we’ve got Darian, and we typically don’t turn the ball over much. Remember — make the simple pass. Go, ‘Cats, Go!

Lots of out of control passes and they got some long arms. The refs are of course letting them reach...

I feel like the opportunities are there, just need to watch the passes and find a way to score. They are long armed.

That's 4 wide open 3s we've missed. Have we ever not scored in an entire quarter?

Maybe in the 2nd quarter they’ll take that gate off the top of our hoop

No scoring through an entire quarter, I wonder if that has ever happened before? Come on now, I know you can shoot.

In spite of the score, I think they are playing better than the men did.

Re: WBB at Stanford NCAA tournament
And it wasn’t a bad dunk. Breakaway. Picks up dribble by palming ball and throw it down.

Re: WBB at Stanford NCAA tournament
I think Stanford is playing better than TT. They’re getting layups and a dunk. TT was hitting jumpers. More schooling with layups.
