I doubt the Richmond win will affect MSU since Richmond is ranked significantly higher than MSU in all the computer rankings and just got multiple wins in their conference tournament that are better than anything on MSU's resume. All it does is knock out whoever the last at-large #12 seed was. For MSU I'll say you're right on the chances although would add a small chance of a #15 seed.Catprint wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 2:08 pmJust checked updated bracket predictions. Joe L at ESPN has us at 14 as does SportsNation and Rotowire. However, Dratings.com has us at 13 SEED!! Some of the sites do not have the Yale upset over Princeton recorded. PRinceton was ahead of us. Richmond over Davidson is probably a bad thing as Richmond seems to have a better rating so not sure how that pans out. At first I thought it would help us, but now thinking it hurts us. Sure could have had Davidson win. I think that would have secured a 13 seed. I think 10% chance of 13 seed and 90% chance of 14 seed. I think we would be last team in at 13 seed.

Re: Bracketology
In '96 I called my buddy (in Billings) from Bellingham, WA and said if the 'Cats win we are going. Sunday we found out why were going to Albuquerque. Spent Sunday and Monday trying to piece together flights (it was not available on your phone then) and finally put a itinerary together Tuesday afternoon. In order to make it my friend had to drive from Buffalo, WY (he was a paper salesman) to Boise (no easy task). Somehow we pulled it off and we watched the fifteenth-seeded 'Cats jump out to an 11-2 lead before falling 88-55 to a Syracuse team that went on to lose in the championship.
We've been going to NCAA games ever since, always 1st/2nd round games. Sadly, we've seen the maroon team three or four times. Once they were playing #1 seed Kentucky and everyone in the place was rooting against Kentucky except us. We've been waiting and waiting and waiting for the 'Cats to show up again. Now we are desperately hoping they'll wind up in Indianapolis as that is where we are headed.

Bobcats get the 14th seed in the West. Texas Tech will be tough, but they don't know what they are getting into.

Re: Bracketology
Lots of Bracketology had MSU as a 15 seed. Getting the bump is nice because your not playin a top 5ish team. You're playing a team that's been beaten and has some warts.

Texas Tech and Montana State (after a real quick glance) had a common opponent this year, Incarnate Word.
MSU 83 Incarnate Word 64 November 27th
TTU 84 Incarnate Word 62 November 20th
Edit
TTU 78 Eastern Washington 46 December 22

Re: Bracketology
Both teams are heavy defensive teams. TTU is a heavy pick to make a deep run. If we can shoot as hot as we did last night it’ll be entertaining for sure!

Welcome to Bobcat Nation! Always great to have some fan interaction. When you say see you in San Diego, does that mean you will be making the trip?Chessamerika wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:21 pmTech fan here. What’s the 6vs11 matchup?
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Early matchup story

...
Adams was named the Heartland College Sports Big 12 Coach of the Year for his work in 2021-22. One of his transfers, Bryson Williams, made the All-Big 12 First Team put together by both Heartland College Sports and the Big 12 coaches.
Texas Tech started the season unranked, as Adams pulled together a roster of nine new players, to go along with holdovers like Terrence Shannon Jr., Kevin McCullar and Marcus Santos-Silva. By December, the Red Raiders moved into the AP Top 25 and stayed there the rest of the season, getting as high as No. 9 on two different occasions....

Re: Bracketology
Looking forward to matchup. Interesting note about Tech, they played 3 of the 1 Seeds and went 3-3 against those teams. Swept Baylor. Split with Kansas, (1 loss came in Double OT in Lawrence; 2nd in Big 12 Tournament Championship Game) and a loss to Gonzaga back in December.
#1 Defense according to KenPom and has length that allows us to switch everything.
Looking forward to learning more about the Bobcats.

Disappointed in a 16 seed. Tough draw with Stanford. Very tough
