Re: Colorado
Yeah, complete missed opportunity tonight. Hopefully they can build on it overall. We're obviously pretty talented.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Colorado
Well that was a dang good game followed by a not so good overtime. The Cats did fight to the end and this team is going to be fun to watch this year.

Try 37-14. That's impressive. In a bad way.

Just to add some perspective (and make myself feel better), in the grand scheme of this season, this game doesn’t mean anything. We played well against a tough opponent. Hopefully gained some confidence and learned some lessons along the way. Go Cats!!

Re: Colorado
Portland State blew an 11 point lead in the second half at Oregon State and lost 73-64. It's really hard to win these games on the road. We were a missed free throw away.
One thing I've noticed. Abdul Mohamed was a quiet role player for most of last season. He became much more of a leader in the Big Sky Tournament run. This year he's a dude. In the Big Sky he's a tough matchup.

Re: Colorado
The announcers were good, but they got one thing very wrong. They kept saying “No matter the outcome of this game, Montana State has already won.” Well, I guess they don’t know Danny Sprinkle as well as they thought they did. This one’s going to bank his fire hotter all season. Big Sky, get ready.

With how experienced we are and how young Colorado was… should have won. Caved under pressure a little bit.
Good game to learn from. We are going to be a tough out.

Re: Colorado
Very true. It would only be "meaningful" if MSU, or any BSC team, had somewhat of a realistic shot of making it out of the first weekend of The Big Dance. BSC teams are playing for a BSC title and, much more importantly, a BSC tournament title with a trip to The Big Dance. Presently there's only one way to do that. About the only way a BSC team is going to The Big Dance w/o winning the BSC tourney is by going 25-5 or better during the regular season and getting a high RPI, but even then there's no guarantee.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

We did everything we needed to win the have except make the frontb end of a 1&1. The fact that it was still a 1&1 at that late point is another topic but if bishop makes it we very probably win the game. Unfortunate to miss the opportunity but this team is good, it's deep, and as their confidence grows and they get roles established, we're going to be a tough out in the big sky.

Re: Colorado
Getting in early foul trouble played well for the buffs. We ran out of gas and their depth and fresh bodies at the end was enough to take over. Kind of like the football team, this was one we very easily could have won but fell short. Also like the football team, I’m sure this will motivate us and we will learn from it. We have young depth, the kid from Wyoming was impressive!

Re: Colorado
Dang, tough loss and it's really easy to dwell on the single play that coulda woulda shoulda locked up the win - but how about the the response from an early deficit to go up by double digits in the second half, and then the clutch 3 from Xavier followed by the two free throws from Mohamed that broke the tie and gave MSU their 5-point lead to begin with. I'm sure Danny has plenty of things for the team to work on but from a fan's perspective I see way more positives than negatives to take away from this one!

Most of the scoring was done by the Seniors. How will the team look next year?

Re: Colorado
Maybe I am being to critical of some of the posts already made, but MAN a lot of you are being pretty hard on this team... We took a #5 seed in last years tourney to overtime, with a chance to win it... We held a double digit lead against a Pac 12 team in the 2nd half ON THE ROAD!!! I am super pumped about what this team showed, and where they are at AFTER JUST ONE GAME!!! Now it is our turn to pack The Brick like back when Danny played here... GET THE WORD OUT... Show up and cheer these young men on!! Starts Sunday!!
