That’s a bad loss.

The bench of an 0-19 team beat the starters of a team who beat UNLV.

I honestly don't know what the answer is. We struggle defensively consistently, we go through terrible stretches on offense, we turn it over with regularity. We find so many different ways to lose game after game. New players, new coaches, new everything and it's the same old story.

Agree. Tynes was only thing I thought worthy of a round of applause.

Can’t put my finger on it....seems like we are out there walking through a scrimmage and no leadership on the floor that wants to win a ball game. What’s changed since early part of year? I don’t know....frustrating.

It's the culture of msu basketball. They expect to lose. They expect to fall apart on february. It's the way it is. They need a tremendous change in culture.

That was a pathetic display of basketball. Seriously, you can't blame rust on that. Defense was awful. Rust can't be blamed on the fact we have lost the last five in a row. Apparently it doesn't matter who's coaching - Sprinkle, Fish, Durham - we just flat out don't know how to win in February. Heading for another one-and-done in the tournament.

Give Durham a little break. He was the coach the last time MSU men's basketball was remotely relevant. 1996. 25 years of this.

Well, this is one of those nights to crack open a beverage and turn off the computer so as not to say something I'll regret tomorrow. Go Cats, get em on Sunday!

I hit submit on a rant-y post, it showed me your post as new since I hit submit, and I thought better of it. Thanks for the sage wisdom. 😂

You actually have a point. The TV guy was talking about this being a “bring your own energy” year. We must have left ours behind at the airport.

Idaho fans are telling us we looked bad, and that they don’t understand how anyone thought we were good at one point. They aren’t wrong.

I don't doubt them, they'd know what bad looks like.

There doesn’t seem to be an on-court leader that rallies the team, that says “we’re not losing this thing” and truly means it. With all the pieces-parts this team is built of — overseas, transfers, JC transfers, high school recruits — is there any real team chemistry at all? Or is it just the personalities? They remind me of playing choose-up Saturday morning basketball in the since departed North and South gyms, where everyone came in different doors and left the same way. With FB and WBB and now VB we keep hearing about “culture, leadership, family”. Maybe I’m totally missing something, but I just don’t see this in the body language or bearing of the team.

Early in year, we had a bunch of new guys and a bunch of new looks, both offensively and defensively. Now that has all been figured out and scouted. Once teams have the tape and can properly adjust, this is often the result. We’ve been bad for 5 straight games now.

I’m not down on Sprinkle, I’m confident that he’s the guy that will get this turned around. It’s just not happening this year. There is absolutely zero cohesion to this team, and our defense is abysmal. We’ve been mostly bad for a quarter of a century, this is not going to get turned around in 2 years.
