Deden seems to be the only one who posted up and got a decent shot up inside. She played a lot of minutes and can turn, face up and shoot the 6 to 8 footer. Her footwork is much more advanced than the other young players. The others seem to throw it up without looking.

Bad Bear footwork is definitely improving on the inside too. She made a couple nice crossover moves inside this weekend.

I think Deden has the potential to be all-conference by time she gets to be a senior. She still has work to do on inside which will come with strength and experience but the differentiator for her is being willing to take that short to mid-range jumper (which you identified and I mentioned on other thread) so people can not just collapse in the paint on her. Jasmine Hommes was so good at that a few years ago...Lexi looks to be in a cut in similar mode.

But hey don’t forget about Mocchi! She had another career high with 18 points. Twelve of those were in the paint Saturday!! She is earning more playing time. Will be interesting to see when Lindsay returns who gets the starting nod. Lindsay brings better rebounding and muscle on inside but Mocchi brings more offense...at least so far. Gabbi can work on her rebounding and defense to stay a key part of the rotation.

Regarding the women's game, a contributing factor to the loss was the horrible call at the end of the 2nd quarter.
A wild shot from almost mid court was thrown up and the ref called one of our women for a foul. when they showed
the replay it was obvious this was a horrible call. There was no foul. Even the PSU announcer, who is very enthusiastic,
admitted that it was a bad call. The PSU player made ALL THREE FTs. So that was three points handed over to PSU
that should not have been.

Yep. Couldn't believe that call!
