bball vs UNCU

Post by BelgradeBobcat » Thu Jan 07, 2021 8:27 pm

Men and in Greeley, women in Bozeman. I wish there was a way to stagger the start times a little more.

The men are ahead by 7 at halftime. We gave the Bears way too many wide open threes in the early going, but did a better job later. UNC really stymied us with a zone for a while. It feels like both teams are playing pretty well.

The women trail 15-12 at the end of one. UNC blew huge leads against the lady griz last week so maybe we just need to keep it close until they run out of gas??? We'll see.

Both games are on Pluto.

And the Men's lead has evaporated. UNC on a 13-2 run...

The Ladies are down 1, 24-23 at the half...

Women trail by 1 at the half. Offensively we're just not a well oiled machine. But they are always scrappy. No Madison Jackson or Skye Lindsay for the Bobcats.

Seems like the men's team put all their strengths on tape against UNLV and opposing coaches have figured out pretty quickly how to beat us. UNC is just bombing away with threes.

What the heck. I go watch the women's game for a while and come back and find the men up 10?

Why are we fouling inside a minute with a 9 point lead??? In any case the Bobcats are going to win this one. Great job!

Women are up 48-40 with 6:23 to go. Very poor shooting percentages for both teams in this one.

Questions:

1. Do we have some women out? If yes, injuries?

2. What is going on with Kirby? He was decent last year and I thought with another year with Sprinkle he would be pretty good.

Bobcats sweep the Bears tonight with the women getting the 54-46 win. Darian White had 16 points, including 4 free throws down the stretch to seal it. Ugly offensive game from both teams. On Saturday they'll both probably score in the 80's! Sure wish we had Skye Lindsay and Madison Jackson playing, but this team does have some pretty good, albeit very young, depth.

Men looked good in closing out the game with poise and authority. Women still seeking consistency but win ugly.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

1. Skye Lindsay and Madison Jackson have been out for a while. Both could be starters.

2. Kirby is playing exclusively at the 5 backing up Belo. Last year he started at the 4, but with Fernandez and Mohamed filling that spot this season Kirby has lost some minutes. He's bulked up a little bit and we don't lose much at all defensively with him in, but he is very limited offensively.
