How do you complain to Pluto? I could not watch the last 2 minutes of the game because it wouldn't load. I use a Firestick plugged into my TV and the Pluto app. Total frustration.
Same setup and mine worked, but I missed a quarter of the Griz game.
I finally gave up on the griz game. Never did come on.
The griz game came through perfectly here. This sort of seems regional. Are you at home in Idaho? Seems like the closer viewers are to the team’s location the more problems as viewers are more localized. There are a lot of Bobcat fans living around here. And sure enough, the end of our game went bad, but the griz game had no issues. I do think I was on the second channel for that one. I wonder if Idaho viewers will have more trouble with the next two? It’s the same old bandwidth problems it looks like. PlutoTV has been flawless until today.
Had a few momentary freezes, but otherwise good on my iPad. Wife has no issue on AppleTV. At least I don’t get the same Tom Steyer commercial over and over and over.
I'm not real tech savvy so my question maybe a dumb one. Does the problem of the broadcast freezing up occur at the sight of the game or does it occur on the end of the viewer or somewhere other than those two?
To me it seems like it shouldn't be happening at my end because I have fiber optic right up to the building.
Not sure, but may have been my end. My iPad was on my WiFi, but AppleTV is hardwired with Cat5. That may account for the difference.

The PlutoTV problems are most likely not coming from the Boise end, based on the widely varying viewer experiences. A few of the momentary black screens may be, as I saw them on both of my devices. If it was at the originating location everyone would see the same disruptions, like when a football game on cable TV experiences “technical difficulties.”

As for the viewer end, it can be caused if you have insufficient bandwidth to your home or through your WiFi router. Just from memory (someone please fix this if I am way off) an HDTV stream would require about 3-4MB/second per device for a movie. That number would certainly be higher for fast action sports. That used to be a big deal, but now it seems like most everyone has 30MB up to gigabit service. So most viewers should not have home issues, especially with hardwired connections. But WiFi can be another issue. Routers share bandwidth with all your neighbors. My WiFi used to act up every evening after 6 p.m. when viewers jumped on after work. If you have an older single-band router, replace it. If you have a router from your service provider, make sure it is their latest/fastest.

My guess is that the primary problem is still with throughput through PlutoTV’s streaming servers. This is reinforced by the fact that PlutoTV has two identical dedicated channels for the tournament. Means they think that a single channel may get overloaded. My problems were mostly at the end of games, when usually there are more viewers. PlutoTV is primarily a movie/TV system. Full-motion sports requires a lot more bandwidth than a movie. Too many basketball viewers equals problems.

I hope this helps explains things a little bit — or at least doesn’t make it worse.

Held on 67-62. Gut check time though for this group of seniors.(Fallyn excluded who went for like 16 and 14 for yet another double-double) We lose this game for SURE without Darian. She was unbelievable and the best player on the floor. Honorable mention my ASS.

BTW UNC’s freshman point also played lights out! That’s going to be a battle for the next 3 years. Hat’s off to the Bears. Came in with nothing to lose and played like it.
Oli and Blair also played well and Madison gave them some really solid defensive minutes. When did Madeline forget how to box out and rebound? And when did Martha forget how to shoot?
I’m not sure the criticism of Smith is fair. This wasn’t her match up so Binford used Braxton. It was physical, very physical. Smith will be there tomorrow and it’ll be more of a finesse game. She also got the crap knock out of her by the big from UNC. I thought having Jackson on defense was interesting. I’m disappointed our guards want to be bigs. It was a block party today!
They were indeed muscling Smith hard and had her well defended.. She took a hard shot onto the floor and was injured on the play. We were concerned from our angle she might have hit the floor with her head but after game she said that was not the issue. Anyway, she sat more after that and she will be back at it today she told us.

Love Madeline and her contributions, but she’s struggled for two games now. Hope she can shake it off and play well on Friday. We’re going to need everybody playing their best.
