Can someone explain why the Cats had free throws before the tip?

Squires gets in the game and hits a shot right away. Good sign.

I was wondering about that too. It must have been a technical called against Weber. Does anyone know why they got called for a tech?

They mentioned about midway into the quarter that it was a uniform violation. They didn't even show the free throws.

Bobcats up 17-11 at the end of the first quarter. MSU has been forcing Weber to take a lot of tough shots.

MSU up 38-22 at half. Looks like what it is--a good team against a young team.

Bobcats are 6-15 on layups. They are playing with a lot of energy all over the court, but those 9 misses had some bunnies in there. But I certainly like our team! Just something to work on in the second half. Kola didn’t get rewarded a couple of times on passes, but her ability is starting to really pop. Very impressive.

The Cats have been moving the ball very well. Eventually those layups will fall.

62-35 Cats with a quarter to go. Time to get the freshmen some playing time.

Uniform violation.
So it had to be an improper# or a t-shirt color.

81-52 final. Lead was 33 at one point. Complete domination.

At one point in the first half, the men trailed Weber by 13 points, but Frey hit a three to give them their first lead. It's now tied with two minutes remaining.

It was the 2nd half and this should be in the men's thread.

Didn't figure that Weber would give us too much trouble tonight, but you never know. What are we against Weber lately? Something like 30-1? It's been a pretty dominant run for the Bobcats against them.

As has been mentioned in this thread-layups were a problem in the first half. We were way ahead but still only shooting less than 40%. That improved considerably in the second half. Martell had a nice game shooting it. Best news of the night-Squires was back and moving pretty well. She hit a couple of jumpers in limited minutes. Glad she's back.

Here's your standard power forward brings the ball up and hits the precocious freshman for the reverse layup play. Very effective.

Several nice passes like that tonight. I like the way they point back at the person making the pass. ..giving them a nice "great pass" shout out. Wasn't that something John Wooden always asked his players to do? Dates me... but I thought that always showed good teamwork.

There wasn't a men's thread when he posted.

Thank you...yes that's correct. I just thought I'd post an update on the WBB thread, since no one seemed to be following the men's game, or at least not commenting on it. Geez...apparently that was a major faux pas. And I had been switching back and forth between the two games, so I had forgotten if that 13 point lead was late in the 1st half, or early in the 2nd half. I guess that was another major error on my part.

I see where Weber reported the attendance of last night’s game was 5,223. Watching on TV, it looked more like 52. Their athletic department ought to be ashamed of such shenanigans.

No wonder they lead the league in attendance every year.
