So we are all aware of the story of the 1928-29 Golden Bobcats. Voted national champions by the Helms Athletic Foundation and the Premo-Porretta power poll. 36-2 record.

So imagine my surprise when I was visiting Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis a week ago (home of Butler University, location of Milan High's big upset in 1954 that was the inspiration for the movie Hoosiers) and looked up and saw a "Butler University 1929 National Champions" banner!!!! Turns out they were named national champions by the "Veteran Athletes of Philadelphia". WTF????

Obviously their championship is a farce and ours is the real deal. :D

Butler was only 17-2. The Golden Bobcats were 36-2 and they avenged both of their losses. Not even close!
