Based on what Coach was talking about- I think it will 2 recruiting seasons or more to get the type of players he needs. Will be interesting to see how coaching staff will take shape and if any changes are made.

I heard former Casper College assistant who was with Dan Russell, Tyler Hurley, is back in the state? Is that true? Any chance he is applying? Saw he was at NMJC this past year. Plus it doesn't hurt to have another Montana guy on staff.
What about the kid down in Alabama, or Arkansas I think it was who is at a D1 school? Didn't he have ties to MT?

Re: Danny Sprinkle
One of the things I loved the most was he mentioned he would be stopping by the Fraternities/Sororities periodically and "recruit" them to get to the games. You want to have an instant impact on attendance and get the Brick a little rowdy? Start there...

You don't "apply" for a D-1 assistant job. Coach Sprinkle will hire guys that he knows, and / or guys recommended by people he trusts.

Re: Danny Sprinkle
This program so needed this exact type of personality and enthusiasm from a head coach. Obviously, different strokes for different folks, but I couldn't ever see Durham, Huse, or Fish giving donuts out on campus. Just not their style. I'm still cautiously optimistic - I am a Bobcat fan, after all - but I can't see how this won't work out well for everyone involved.
I can't help but compare this situation to Bryce Drew @ Valparaiso. Former star point guard comes back to his alma mater as a first time head coach. Injects a TON of enthusiasm into the program and wins multiple conference championships and conference coach of the year awards and leads the program back to the NCAA's. Hoping for a parallel narrative @ MSU.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I love a coach who engages with the students and community, but I'm afraid the only sure way to get students to consistently attend games is by winning games and competing for championships.

Congrats to Haslam, glad to hear he is staying. I don’t know anything about Dirden, is this a good hire?
