This guy is incredibly impressive. He's turned a basketball team at a football school in the boondocks of Missouri into a powerhouse. https://www.kansascity.com/article228418944.html
Belgrade, I would assume Leon knows about this guy but maybe you better forward this to him just in case :D

The DII guys both are successful head coaches.

Lutz is similar to Fish in being a long time assistant but never a head coach. He is basically Purdue's defensive coordinator and "is widely considered one of the top recruiters in the country."

I've been expecting a call from Leon to ask me what I think. I'm little concerned he hasn't asked me yet.
In all seriousness-I wouldn't have posted if McCullom wasn't mentioned as a possible candidate.
Now off to stake out the airport.

Duryea was a .500 head coach at Utah State but did recruit the Mountain West Conference player of the year this season.

If we go with Duryea then we owe Brian Fish an apology. His records at USU were exactly what Huse and Fish's were here. The guy who replaced Duryea won the MWC his first season.

Based on his resume, I totally agree. There would need to a awfully compelling back story for hiring him. I think this one is a non-starter.

I think the fact that we are seeing Sprinkle not named may in fact mean he isn't showing as strong as we'd think. Just saying.

I think Brooks/Colter were just completing the list they gave in their first story where they talked about Sprinkle, Looney, Shaw, and Jones.

There's always the possibility that MSU/Bozeman is a black hole for coaches.
Do you ever wonder what Kelvin Samson's career would have become had he become MSU's coach when he was just starting? (The committee didn't even interview him).
David Padgett coaching 22-14 record in major D1 9-9 ACC MacDonald All American Played Kansas and Louisville 6-11 and didn't get an interview

So no D2/NAIA coach made it to the final round of 4. All the final 4 candidates are D-1 assistants and only 1 (Sprinkle) are west coast based (unless you consider Oklahoma west coast) it should be interesting.

Hi I’m a long time lurker to the site with a ton of family who went to MSU. I’m not sure @Msla_Bobcat what your referring to? I’m not goin to share Colter’s information but his 4 candidates are not all assistant coaches. Is there a reason you can’t share yours? You hint at knowing details like Oklahoma but that doesn’t match what others are reporting. I think all of the candidates have some great strengths. Hopefully the right choice is made.

We want to to turn in your crystal ball. You missed it on the coaching call.

You might’ve missed this line in the story. Looney interviewed as well. And there’s another candidate that I can’t confirm yet because I don’t have enough sources. So five total, including the 4 reported above.

According to very good sources about 53 candidates have interviewed! Costello must be laughing his ass off right now at us. The only guy I know 100% who is interviewing is Sprinkle and he is going in strong with his top assistants already identified a potential player or two who also join him. The big problem we have been having, and I said this last week, is that Costello and his committee did preliminary interviews in Salt Lake last week. They interviewed a dozen or more potential candidates. Those are the names that flooded this thread, and even were mentioned by Colter earlier. Yes they interviewed, BUT NOT NECESSARILY THE FINAL ROUND IN BOZEMAN, Jono Metzger Jones was never a serious candidate. So we are running around with our heads cut off and with egg on our faces, and Costello has to be loving it. I was told earlier today Looney was out (who the ****** knows anymore) and the remaining candidates were D-1 assistants. Who the ****** knows. If we are gong to go with D-1 assistants how can you not go with Danny. The rest of them are potential Brain Fish waiting to bite us in the butt. Looney is and has been my 2nd favorite almost from day one. At this point I doubt I have it right, I doubt Colter has it completely right, I doubt anyone has it completely right. My last prediction when ever they announce the new coach it will either be Sprinkle or someone not even mentioned in this thread?
