The Bobcats are playing the kids from the town so nice-they named it twice =D^ Walla Walla University. They're an NAIA program.

Cats are ahead 77-32 in the second half. We did trail at one point 15-9, but have obviously righted the ship since then.

There wasn't a whole lot of drama in this one, except for something funny at the end. The PA announcer told the crowd that the Bobcats had 10 three pointers and 11 three pointers would have given everyone in the crowd a free cheeseburger at McDonalds. A bunch of kids really wanted that cheeseburger and started frenzied cheers to get it. At the end, the kids were yelling "shoot the three" and Brad Huse gave a very strange look to the crowd when they didn't shoot with 15 seconds left. The guy even gets booed in a win.

However, that was about all of the drama. Stephen Holm looks like he's going to be a sharp shooter for the Cats. He's a freshman out of Utah. Otherwise, I don't think I'm going to have a good read on this team until conference season. It's not going to come from this game. It was nice to see the Cats win a basketball game and it wasn't cold in the Fieldhouse.

It's too bad you get to see that almost as rarely as I do.

One glaring concern-among many with our team-is fouls. Tyler Wiltgen said that going into last night's game, MSU has 74 fewer attempts from the free throw line than their opponents. Last night we fouled WWU 19 times to their 12. Why do we have to foul NAIA players? Our superior speed and size should allow us not to foul.

If you go to the line less than your opponents you're probably going to lose more than you win.

Some of our players have some really bad defensive habits and the new rules and emphasis on hand checking is really costing us.

on the defensive side from what I've seen so far we're just a little slow on rotating so more times than we should be we're out of position which leads to fouling. on the offensive side of the ball it's obvious. we don't attack the basket so we're never going to the line. we bomb threes. unless teams foul us on the threes we're not going to get fouled while shooting very often.

I agree this will be an issue for this team going forward.
