Recruiting

When recruiting players two cardinal rules must apply.
#1 The player must be able to stay eligible in the classroom.
#2 The player must be able to shoot the basketball effectively.
All other aspects of the game, defense, offense, passing, setting screeens, et al, can be taught. That is if the coaching staff is good.
The MSU coaching staffs', both men and women don't seem to be able to accomplish #2. Neither of our teams have quality shooters for the most part.
And, with a few exceptions, this has been the case over the years with the current coaches tenures.
Without change in coaching personnel and/or philosphy, we're never going to have quality teams and be competetive.
Our current teams are not even fun to watch. And it's beginning to show up in attendance. At the 10 minute mark last night many of the fans were leaving the women's game. At the 5 minute mark I was one of them.
