FARGO – A freshman the North Dakota State women’s basketball program was counting on for the next three years has left the team to concentrate on academics.

Guard Danielle Muri will not return for her sophomore season, said head coach Carolyn DeHoff. The 5-foot-9 Muri started 10 games last season averaging 4.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She will attend Montana State and pursue a degree in graphic design, DeHoff said.

Muri is a great player. I would love to see if she would try out for the team.

Basketball was her 2nd best sport behind soccer (and by a good margin). That's what she should have been playing in college based on solely ability and potential in a sport. But sometimes kids pick what they like best and there's nothing wrong with that.
