Marcus Colbert, who helped the Post Falls Trojans to state tournament appearances in each of his four seasons as the starting point guard, has been named 5A boys Player of the Year by the Idaho Statesman newspaper of Boise.
The 5-foot-11 Colbert quietly became the school's career scoring leader, finishing with 1,407 points. He won a school-record 82 games as a starter and averaged 17 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. The Trojans, who won the state title two years ago and were fourth last year, were runners-up at state this year to Borah.
"A true winner. I will miss watching him play ... other teams," Borah coach Cary Cada told the Statesman of Colbert.
Colbert, a first-team All-Idaho selection for the third straight season, has signed to play at Montana State next season.
