After working through some APR and off-court issues when he first arrived, Huse has done a good job recruiting lately, but has simply had some bad luck. Tre Johnson, Salley (he didn't show up, but is a very good player), Reid, Dison, and now Colbert. Budnich has his moments. Robison and Shannon are also solid players. Huse had a great JC year last year with Bigelow, Blount, and Moon. Imagine if Salley, Blount and Bigelow were all out there this year.
Count me as someone who isn't giving up on Huse. He might need to soften his approach, but he's getting players and it'd be interesting to see what he does when he gets them all on the court.
Huse has had some really bad recruiting luck. His top three recruits for this season (Biglow, Stewart, and Blount) aren't currently playing. Salley-as I understand it-was in Bozeman and ready to start school when they found out he was a non-qualifier. He was one of Huse's biggest "gets" for last season. Every team has issues-almost no school has 100% success rate with recruits, but Huse has had more than his fair share of bad luck.
Hopefully this kid pans out-like Shawn Reid is. He looks like his build is similar to Singleton's. He's not real tall-which probably why we got him instead of Gonzaga, Wazzu, Idaho, Boise State, etc. It will be interesting to see where he plugs in-our team will be pretty guard heavy if Biglow and Stewart come back.
