Montana State men's basketball played a secret scrimmage this morning/afternoon against Wyoming, and first word out of Wyoming is that Montana State won but about 10 points. No official stats were kept and the turned off the score board at the end but MSU seemed to have a good lead before hand and did not let up on the gas. Early yet but I want to see this team now against real D-1 competition.

Interesting. Where was the game played?

Also, are the tweats correct-we picked up a committment from a 6'7" kid from Washington?

I am not sure I think Casper but I would not bet the house on it.

Yes, 6-7 or 6-8 Ryan Shannon from Washington committed earlier this week. I will have some more info on his shortly.

I'm not much of a basketball conversationalist (never played-wrestler) but I can tell you that Coach Huse is very excited for this season. I saw him the day after they got back from the scrimmage and he lit up pretty good when we visited about how things went.

Definitely gonna have to take some games in this winter when schedule allows.

Most predictions I've seen have Wyoming anywhere from 6th to 8th in the MWC. They lose Ewing, who was the MWC POY last year. They're very young, expected to start 4 sophs.

from the people I talked to Montana State won the scrimmage by 7 points but had a much bigger lead at times. They did play a lot of player, and no one scored over 10 points but a lot of folks were involved in the offense. Offense still need some work but a LOT of scoring options. Huse played a 4 guard offense at times with Reid (quickness, hustle), Stewart (athleticism) and Blount Johnson (strength, toughness) each using their differing talents to actually rebound quite effectively.

It's just amazing...now Wyoming will only play us in secret? I know they were mad when we beat them, but this takes the cake!

These scrimmages seem like good ideas. I understand that the Griz faced Washington State and Weber State played Boise State. It would be nice to get these kinds of games as regular season matchups.

Still, I don't think it would hurt the University of Wyoming to play MSU. They have a home-and-home with Idaho State this year. Why not us?

Since it looked like the Cats won, maybe things will look pretty good this season. The jury is still out for me.
