Good opportunity for MSU to turn things around. UNC might be looking ahead or the Bobcats could be more focused. Would be a good time to do it.

Well they made a good run at them in the second half. Scored some points anyway. That's something. First time over 65 pts in 2011 (since Dec. 31).

while that stat wouldn't shock me....it's not QUITE right...

we scored 74 against portland state on the 13th, and we scored 71 against ewu on the 16th. both wins. after that things started to get really, REALLY bad.

and here we are.... #-o

I was pleased with the Bobcats' effort tonight. They looked much better than they did last week and I was happy that they stayed close and even took a lead in the second half. There is a bright spot coming with the rest of the schedule: MSU is done with the top 4 in the conference. The next 4 conference games are quite winnable, and I think things might start moving in the right direction. This kind of effort will be needed to beat Sacramento State on Sunday and overcome the hurdle of winning again. Then I'm hoping that things snowball in the right direction.

They played super hard...they really did. But this team has an 800 pound gorilla on their back and it shows. So many opportunities but just couldn't get over the hump all game long. Still shot less than 40% for the game-that's just not going to get it done. We finally did take the lead and had a chance to go up by four, but Howard clanked a jumper early in the shot clock and then UNC hit a three and that was that. Beitzel went off big time with Rush on him, but giving him too much space. You gotta be right on that guy all the time.

My prediction for the Sac State game: Sac State comes in here and sets a school record for three pointers as the Hornets "upset" us. Why not? Everybody else absolutely goes off on us from three land.

First time over 61 in five games.

Hmm. Must have been just looking at the losing teams score. That's a little telling.

Anyway Reid had a good game. Beitzel had 31. He's good.

When they share the ball they seem to cruise....when they play one on one they struggle! What the heck possesses Trujeque going to the hoop against three big men? Isn't he supposed to be a point guard (and about 5 ft nothing to boot!) The second half Rush started getting some of the others invoolved and they made a couple of runs...but they had some lapses when either Bobby, Casey or Eric tried to go to the rim against two men with Reid spotting up for a three with no one on him!

I thought Budnich and Johnson played pretty good defense for the most part but coach still went to Cody in the clutch. He tried pretty hard but still can't move and is no longer a scoring threat. He tried to hedge on the high ball screens and two out ot three times couldn't stop and ran over the offensive player and got called for a foul.
