msu @ nau...

this is going to be a real tough game for the cats...epsecially defensively. led by cameron jones, nau has the best offense in the conference and they really spread the ball around. jones is getting almost 20 a game, and nau leads the conference in almost every offensive category. scoring offense, field goal percentage, 3 point field goal percentage, assists, and assists to turnover ratio all belong to the 'jacks. however, they don't rebound as well and they shoot free throws almost as bad as we do.
nau is coming off of a big home win against northern colorado and they are right in the mix near the top of our league. obviously a win for the cats is not impossible...based on how the two teams have been performing lately i'll be very surprised to get out of their with a win.
thoughts?

it would shock me if the Cats won. Based on what I saw the last two weeks, I actually question the team's desire.

Shane Johannsen, their center, has the best hands and is the best finisher in the Big Sky. The silver lining...they're not so big-in fact they're quite undersized. We got up on them pretty good when they came to Bozeman-but that seems like a long time ago.
We've notoriously got off to bad starts at NAU. This year they're playing in a cracker box P.E. complex gym (like our Shroyer) because the Skydome is being renovated. The small crowds they get can create some atmosphere in that environment.

If I'm not mistaken, NAU has more D1 players on their roster. so, they should win easily. Also, tests have shown that at their altitude, they in fact have bigger hearts.

Why go there on an otherwise perfectly good thread?

it's no thing GIW. i knew full well the reprocussions (if they can be called that on a message board) that would come my way after calling out a montana kid. maybe i am in the minority and that is ok. all i know is we haven't won the conference ONE time in almost 20 years! our talent this year is seriously lacking, as it has been for the last 5 plus seasons. and i actually agree with hawks86. we have guys starting for us this season that definitely wouldn't start for several of the teams in the big sky. in fact, some of our players would struggle to get meaningful minutes at all for the griz and other teams in the league.
clearly i am way off. this team has immense talent and it's a mystery why we're not winning games. i'll be watching and supporting though like always.

ya that guy is good. think he's still making over 70% of his shots. i agree that we match up to them pretty well as we are two of the smallest teams in the conference. singleton is capable of playing very good defense so that should be a good matchup with jones. just don't have much confidence based on how we've looked lately.

NAU is a team that scares the living $hit outta me. I just didn't see them losing 4 conference games all year, and to do that in the first few weeks was a shocker to me. But it looks like maybe they've got that turned around, and there is no doubt they have the talent and the experience to play with anyone in this league. If they get a on a roll, LOOK OUT!

Don't know if you guys have pre-game with your radio coverage or not but....
http://www.bigtalkerradio.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
....is NAU's.
NAU may have been playing better as of recent but there's no such thing as a gimme in the Big Sky. I expect the Bobcats will play hard.

MSU is obviously having a tough time scoring. 25-14 with 3 left in half.

Man this is the 4th game in a row that they have gotten off to a slow start. FIGURE SOMETHING OUT, HUSE! They are floundering and you are on the verge of losing this team completely!
At this point, I'd be happy if they win the second half, or at least play even...

From what I saw our offense looks like a fricken Keystone Cops routine.

4 turnovers in a row... I've got better things to do than watch this garbage.
Wake me up when football season is here.

And there's our point guard getting his pocket picked by their center. And I'm done.
Chance of winning at Weber...absolutely zero.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, the Griz have 19 points and 13 turnovers at half.
