PSU comes in with a 2-1 conf record with their only loss against Northern Colorado. Should be a good one!

GO CATS!!!!

Cats seem to have developed a Grind It Out identity the last couple weeks. I think that works for them. I don't expect many blowouts. Just some gang tough wins. That's a good style come tourney time if they make it.

Is it my imagination or is Bobby really struggling right now compared to where he was last year. I don't know if he is pressing or what but he seems to be making a lot of silly mistakes.

The cats are a fun team to watch this year. I am really enjoying the games.

Ugh, it is so perplexing that we are so bad at free throws, when we have as many good shooters as we do. Dead last in conference, and I think 4-13 so far tonight.

Make that 4 of 17 at the line.

You've heard of hack-a-Shaq, well I'm guessing teams could deploy a hack-a-Cat technique on us this year. 5 of 19, the crowd cheers Singleton's last free throw, we finally made one.

Yeah I like the makings of this team as well. The long bouts of 3 point shooting (scoreless streaks) and free throws is a little disturbing, but I like the way we play D/slash/move the ball. I really like Singleton at point. He is a true/physical point guard that is not looking to shoot, but get the team involved. He is a good defender as well and can lock down his guy. Another good win for MSU (even while not playing a perfect game - free throws). We are now 4-1 in conference and haven't even played our best game yet this year I don't think so they can definately improve their game by the end of the year and get RED HOT if they clean some of that up.

UNC, UM, and WSU all have or about to win tonight. MSU needs to hold serve.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Reid's contributions this early on. He is playing a lot better than I thought he would this early. Although as young as we are got to play somebody.

The fact that Allou is really effective for us doesn't surprise since anybody that can jump like a pogo stick usually does well in the Big Sky.

Another semi ugly win..but a win none the less.

Why do so many people on this board call MSU young? Don't the Cats start -- along with NAU -- the most experienced team in the conference?

Maybe I should say new to this team.

Singleton and Allou are transfers and starters.

Reid is a true freshman along with Trejeque (true freshman) play between 10-20 minutes a game.

There are 4 other freshman that get 2-10 minutes of play depending on how the game is going.

Yeah, I guess when I hear "young" I think inexperienced starters or lack of seniors seeing regular minutes. Neither really seems to apply. The Griz only have one senior on the roster, for example, so that would seemingly qualify as young.

I think the good news about this game is this team can play so much better.

I don't know what it is-everybody must have the exact same defective micro-chip in their head. If one guys starts missing-they all start missing. At UNC it was from the field and against PSU it was from the freethow line. Seriously-can't just one or two guys go cold and not everybody?

Piepoli is in an epic slump. And every attempt is worse than the last one. Reed has been a beneficiary of sorts-as he's starting to get the minutes. Reed is streaky but when he's on-look out. We probably lose tonight without him-as nobody else was really doing anything from out.

Allou is our own version of Dennis Rodman (except that he's not a psychopath). He irritates the other team to no end, and he's great at tapping rebounds to himself like Rodman did. Tonight was his best game and PSU was a perfect matchup for him-they're pretty guard oriented.

PSU will get better when Phil Nelson gets the rust off. He's just getting back from injury. Not much of a factor tonight-but he will be later on in the season.

Dear Coach Huse: Whatever you're doing in practice for freethrows ain't working. None of your teams have been very good from the line, but this team is by far your worst in that department. Tonight was just a huge disaster. I've never seen a team shoot worse-from 7th grade girls on up! Do something different-even if it's wrong...please!

Yeah-I thought I was pretty safe with that criticism. Huse was funny on the post game show. The first thing he said was, "Go ahead Jeff-ask me about the free throws."

The weird thing is, we had our best free throw performance of the season at Northern Colorado-and we got run out of the gym. Tonight was our worst (in history?) and we win fairly comfortably. It makes no sense.

I can't speak for everyone else, but you have my permission to refer to the griz as young.
