Great win for the Cats, but FT's could've lost it.

Big win, looks like we might be better than expected. Hope this team can keep building on this. Great win, if we can make our FTs we'll be tough to beat!

I'm certainly not on that list, if Bobby hadn't had a great night the Cats wouldn't have been in the game. My only point about the whole game was that as a team they need to make FT's- they could easily have made the difference between a W and an L tonight.

You are absolutely right. I just get tired of people on this site pinning things on the individuals. I totally agree all of them need to be shooting a hundred FT.s a day till they can consistantly hit 80%. Listening to Huse on the post game this is BIG being a young team on the road being able to overcome their mistakes and holding on for the win. And looking at the stat sheet this is finally a team with lots of guys getting in the scoring column.

Great win!! We are going to win more games and lose more games, but it so easy to route for a team that never give up. There are a lot things we can improve on but, in the end it take that drive to win that usually caries the day. It maybe early but so far this team looks like they have some of that.

Great win!

If we can take this in to Boise we'll head into conference with some big mo.
Rush and Piepoli had big nights. Congrats to them.
I thought Mbunga was going to be the guy tonight. It helps to get the outside help though.

I love Shaq as well....but he needs to sit (Howard) when they foul to get in the game.
Maybe he needs to step back to the 3 point line for his FTs....(Ha)

After we beat the Gris the BBall team will be on fire Monday!

Just out of curiosity, is there any rule saying you can't step back to the 3 point line to shoot a FT? That would be hilarious to see...

From MSU-

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Bobby Howard scored 24 points, including a
second-chance basket with one second to play that sent the game to
overtime, as Montana State beat Colorado 85-82 in Boulder on Tuesday.

"It was chaos," MSU coach Brad Huse said of the scramble that led to
Howard's basket that tied the game at the end of regulation. Howard
missed a free throw on an and-one situation. "We were disappointed that
we'd given up the lead. Will (Bynum) had a tough drive, he did a nice
job attacking the rim, and Bobby did a nice job getting to the ball and
putting it in."

Montana State led for most of the game, taking a 6-4 lead on Howard's
three-pointer at 16:35 of the first half and not trailing until just
before Howard tied it at the end of regulation. The Bobcats led by as
many as 13 in the first half before taking a 37-30 lead into the locker
room, and led by as many as 15 in the second half.

"I'm proud of the character our guys showed," Huse said. "We could have
hung our heads (after regulation), and then they hit a three (to start
the overtime period), but we'll learn from that. Next time we'll do a
better job managing a lead."

With the Bobcats trailing 76-75 with 2:38 left in regulation, Howard hit
a three-pointer to give MSU the lead. Colorado tied the game twice on a
pair of free throws, but Will Bynum scored on a layup with 54 seconds
remaining, and Danny Piepoli's two free throws gave the Bobcats an 84-80
lead. Cory Higgins scored on a layup with 10 seconds left, but Bynum
made one of two free throws and Colorado couldn't get a clean shot off
as the game ended.

Howard shot 9-for-14 from the field, 5-for-7 from three-point range.
Huse lauded him for his scoring output, but was even more pleased with
his rebounding. "Bobby's playing hard, and he's playing with a lot of
confidence. The most important thing is that he's trying to do it on
both ends. He shot the ball well tonight, but he validated that with his
rebounding. That's as important as his scoring."

MSU out-rebounded the Big 12 Buffs 37-to-30 on the night, shooting 49%
to CU's 48%.

The Bobcats play again at Boise State on Monday night, Nov. 24, before
traveling to Oregon State for a Wednesday night contest.

Hahahahahaha! That will teach you, Austin Dufault, to pick CU over MSU. Suck on that!

Levi Knutson was even closer to becoming a Cat than Austin Default. He took an official visit last year to Bozeman, and then decided he wanted to visit again with his dad so they drove up to catch a football game, told the coaches that it looked like he had made his decision, then that week end Colorado swooped in and offered him and he committed to instate CU.

So by your logic he would not have been in at the end of the game to scoop up the missed shot and put the lay in, in that sent us into overtime? What about Rush and his turning the ball over at half court and the guy goes down and scores the layin to tie the game in regulation? Should we take him out because he got stripped for layins 3 times in the second half. Did you read Huse's article we needed him in at the end of the game to rebound and play defense as well. The kid is a gamer did he have a bad free throw shooting nite yes but he did a lot of other things well too. Hitting the three in OT that gave us a two point lead. Getting the rebounds and something the radio guy said last nite when they were taking the ball out rather then forcing it to someone having the intelligance to call the time out to get a better set, then getting it in to one of our better FT shooters Pepoli. Give the kid some credit for the effort he puts out every game. He has been pretty consistant the past four games and that is what Huse seems to be saying he wants out of him. I can almost guarnatee he is probably in the gym shooting free throw today before practice because that is the kind of player he is. I watched him play a lot of AAU ball here in Washington his summer before his senior year and that is what impressed a lot of us here in Washington was his intensity. He comes to play every game. If he is not god enough to play for you guys at the end of games we would be happy to take him over here at EWU.
