This roster gives CAT fans reason to be confident.
Yep, MSU should be right in the thick of the top end of the Big Sky race next year especially after EWU got blown up when Riley left. The huge question of course is who will replace as much as possible of the production of Robert Ford next year. It's always nice to have big men but I'd also love to see another point guard signed to fill the last roster spot.
And is the max number on the roster 15?lv2hoop wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 5:02 pmMbb Roster Update as of 5/5/24: 0 scholarship spots remaining

I always thought the rule was 13 maximum scholarships and 15 maximum players overall including walk-ons, but the team had 16 players on the roster last year and appears to have that many again this year if all three walk-ons stay. Apparently there's at least a temporary rule in place to increase the maximum.RickRund wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:50 amAnd is the max number on the roster 15?lv2hoop wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 5:02 pmMbb Roster Update as of 5/5/24: 0 scholarship spots remaining

I’ve wondered about this myself and haven’t gotten a clear answer. Your numbers are correct for men’s basketball that there are 13 scholarships (15 for women) and team size is to be 15 players max. But I have pulled up tables the last couple years and of the over 350 D1 men’s teams the average ranges from 15.7 to 16 players per team. So it isn’t clear to me if the larger number is including inactive players, red shirts, medical red shirts, etc. Etc. I don’t understand the counting and where the extra person is coming from but is obviously more wide spread than just MSU.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 9:21 amI always thought the rule was 13 maximum scholarships and 15 maximum players overall including walk-ons, but the team had 16 players on the roster last year and appears to have that many again this year if all three walk-ons stay.
