Re: Picton to Sac State
I had a bad feeling after the hot run at Ohio State and being pulled she was unhappy. Transferring to Sac State though! Baffling.

Had to look back and see if this thread was started on April 1.

Don't know that her unhappiness was warranted. I'm sure Morales was often in the middle of "hot streaks" when she was pulled for Picton. It was a rotational kinda thing.
I'm baffled.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

I don't know about the rest of the guys on this board but for me 19 years old, 9 years old, or 59 years old, it doesn't matter because more often than not I have trouble understanding the mind of most females.CatRowdy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 12:09 pm1st I think it's funny we sit on here trying to understand what's going through a 19 year old young ladies mind.
2nd If she believes she should have started, played more minutes, been the star at MSU than I suspect leaving and going 'somewhere she's appreciated' was likely her only thought.
3rd, She has no choice but to accept at least one offer that comes in.... so in conclusion, if this was the best offer...she has to take it. Downgrade, upgrade whatever... she wants to keep playing and this might be her only choice.

One thing is for sure, In whatever combination Sac state decides to play Picton their backcourt just got better.
If you're looking for someone with a little authority, I'm your man. I have as little as anyone!

100 percent. One minute it’s good ten minuets later she changes her mind and it’s not. Yes their backcourt improved for sure. But it had to be a let down in my opinion going there. But oh well it’s done.

Re: Picton to Sac State
When sac got healthy at the end of the year they beat us and then won the next 3 and almost won against NAU in the playoffs. So at healthy they were a good team. Versteeg played almost 40 minutes every game. So I have no doubt this makes them a better team. Benth may not have scored a lot of points but your point guard is there to facilitate and not necessarily score a bunch of points. But the end of the day Natalie isn't a 2. Benthe isn't a 2. They're both 1's and it means Natalie comes off the bench. Again.

Re: Picton to Sac State
Hahaha, well, honestly I am very confused by this decision. My first instinct is to think that there was something going on in the locker room with the remaining team that led to her entering the portal, but even that really makes no sense as she would have been a leader, and probably had a lock in that role. The other thought is that she was told in post season interviews that she did not have the lock on that position/role, and decided to look elsewhere. I can't believe that Sac is providing enough NIL or promise of play time to make that move worth it, but maybe. So then we go to the 3rd thought, and that would be is she dating a guy from Sac, or wants to? From a girl point of view, those are my ideas.

Looking back I still don't understand many of the weird/dumb decisions I made when I was in college, so personally I'm not going to waste time speculating on why other players make the decisions they do.nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 10:13 amHahaha, well, honestly I am very confused by this decision. I think a large part of kids portaling is just to check a box on their social media agenda. These kids have never know a world without social media. I'm not sure most of us understand how big a role it plays in their lives.

We will see how it turns out for her. I think social media certainly does help with reality.

By the way great answers Nanacat. I’m sure the right one is one of the three you listed. I’ll keep it to myself which one I think it is.

It may not be a guy....maybe a girl. 2 friends set to move to Hollywood and make it big. You just never know.nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 10:13 amHahaha, well, honestly I am very confused by this decision. And I know sac isn't close to Hollywood. But its closer than Bozeman.

Do you pick up on anything here in hindsight? I don't. If you told me watching this she would transfer I'd think you were crazy.

Re: Picton to Sac State
If there was significant dissatisfaction from any of the players who transferred out towards the MSU program, then they were the best actors in the world to hide it as well as they did in all of the glowing interviews they did this year. I think some folks may be massively overthinking this and inventing things out of thin air that don't have any evidence of existing.
