Logie also has a great W-L record. Before Pt Loma he was the Whitworth head coach. He's won big wherever he's been. His best player this year was a kid from the Seattle area so he knows how to recruit the Northwest.

Logie is also the grandson of Ed Pepple, who was the head coach at Mercer Island High in Seattle. Pepple was Travis DeCuire's head coach in high school. That's why when Logie was the head coach at Whitworth, the Griz consistently played the Pirates.

Whoever wrote Logie's bio on the Point Loma website deserves a raise for the line about him having a better career win percentage than John Wooden, Dean Smith, and Coach K.

Are you saying he worked at Boise junior college?

McCollum won the national championship several times but one year the opposing coach in the championship game was the Idaho State head coach.
I was just going to ask if that hadn’t been a Looney - McCollum matchup. I was watching because Jasmine Hommes’ brother was playing for Looney. The basketball was really good but it was more a non D-I style with lots of motion, good passing, good shooting.

Yes that was a Looney-McCollum matchup. If I'm handicapping I think Leon goes with his homeboys the Wisc or USC assistants.

Does Leon have a prior connection with the USC assistant?

I thought one of the articles said he did before MSU.

His coaching jobs have been at Stetson, Georgia Southern, FIU and USC, so he certainly hasn't overlapped with Leon at a prior job. Perhaps they've met before in another setting.

I thought I read that one of the head coaches he has worked for and Leon know each other and the old boss gave him a favorable recommendation.

The salary MSU can offer is set by the BOR, correct? Like it needs approval anyway. I assume this makes negotiations extremely difficult during a hiring process? Do other schools have this issue? As I understand Utah State upped their offer to Danny as he was going to turn it down. We don’t have that luxury as our hands our tied. Am I understanding that correctly? And how big of an issue is it?

That's the fourth version of that article? We've had updates all weekend long?

8. Pending any additional departures McMahon, Osobor, Patterson, Ash, Ford, Colceag, Miller, and Lecholat are still on the roster.
