An interesting rebounding stat is Taylee C having 118 rebounds, Ella J at 80, and Addison H at 72 in 17 games. Taylee had 47 offensive and 71 defensive rebounds. The team as a whole is 7th in the conference with 633 rebounds vs 656 for opponents.

Looks like we're having one "those" kind of games. If you happen over to the ESPN+ broadcast beware, the ISU's announcers take shameless homerism to a very high level.

I've got Daniel Salle synced in on my iphone but not a good night so far. PLaying way below par. Hopefully we'll get it going soon. Confused about our lineup so far. Not very productive shooting at all. Let's don't dig too deep of a hole please

Down by 9 at the half. Too many turnovers (13) and subsequent points (15) scored by Idaho State. Bunyon has 3 fouls. Bench is struggling, only 1 for 11 so far. Cats are 26% from three. Chirrick has 1 pt, so I'm hoping she'll get unleashed in the 2nd half. Thankfully, Addison has 12 pts to balance out her 6 turnovers. Ball handling really needs to improve in the 2nd half. GO CATS GO!

Yep they like to shoot their way out of a slump. Been a few game like this all year. Not a great shooting team and seem to find nights when all are off at same time. Offense has a hard time scoring unless creating turnovers and some teams won't do that as much.

Cats are solid. But not the juggernaut some posters feel they are. Some definite weaknesses and a lot of youth. See if can pull another big comeback out.

ISU is the best defensive team in the Big Sky we have seen. Got beat a bit at our own game.
Baseline D needs a lot of work. Too many easy layups.

Re: WBB @ Idaho State
The team struggles to adapt or have a Plan B when the threes aren’t falling.
On a related note, Jamison Phillip has been arguably my favourite player this season, and this isn’t meant as a criticism as she’s a freshman who will only get better, but she’s shooting .111 from long range (4-36) compared to .846 from the FT line. Looking at that differently, she’s clearly a great shooter from the stripe, which gives some hope that her long range shooting might improve into next season.

That is similar to one of my worries going into the season. Great transition D and high pressure D, but potential weakness protecting the paint. Lots of great perimeter defenders, few rim protectors. But I guess 6’2” rim protectors don’t exactly grow on trees. Baseline D might be less about height though, so hopefully that can be solved.

Re: WBB @ Idaho State
I was worried about this game for one reason — coaching experience of the opponent. It’s no accident that veteran coaches often rise to the top. The Big Sky is pretty much an entry or early experience league for Division I coaches. Coach Binford (and crew) is our biggest advantage vs. many of the teams. But not so with Idaho State and it’s the reason they so often gave been a thorn in the Bobcat Paw.
I opined not long ago in a message to a friend that the way to beat the ‘Cats offensively is to deny the key and make them beat you with three-pointers. And Idaho State did exactly that, and stuck with it even when Jami- and Addi-son each dropped a pair of threes. Easier said than done, but Idaho State has the players, and above all, the coach (who shall not be named) to pull it off.

Re: WBB @ Idaho State
I don’t think lack of height is an issue, at least at the 6’2” size. Ella J is 6’2”. Teagan E is 6’2” and can jump out of the Brick. And Addison H is hmmm — when we recruited her she was always 6’2” or even 6’3”. Now the roster lists her at 6’1” but her Hudl is 6’2”. Just compare her to Ella or Teagan. In real life she is at least as tall. So, I’m going with Addison H at 6’2”.Will23C1982 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 2:08 amThat is similar to one of my worries going into the season. So, the Tall Three are Tall Enough. Ella and Addie are pretty effective inside defenders — they simply aren’t 13-5 with their schedule if they are weak there. Tonight Idaho State was doing a good job keeping them higher while their corner shooters drove the base. Good coaching, good game plan, excellent execution.

True, fair points. I forget how big some of these players are. I guess it was more about their tactics and ability to move our taller players out of position, as you said.

They also have the head coach of Portland State last year as an assistant. Her husband is also an assistant, who happens to be from MT.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 2:36 amI was worried about this game for one reason — coaching experience of the opponent.
