Jamison is shooting 3-29 (10.3%) on the year from three. Hard to characterize her as a good shooter from three at this point. Certainly she will improve. Darian was never much of a three-point shooter, 27.2% for her career which is mediocre. Her game was driving and hitting 10-12 footers.aucat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 1:01 pmI was at the game so was not subject to Krista Grizpath but I didn't make it to the men's game so I watched it on TV. I don't seem to have any problem turning on the Cat broadcast on my Iphone then pausing the video so that I can sync them up. I tell you what, does Jamison Phillip look like a freshman? She is starting to look more like the great Darian White, except I think Jamison might be a better shooter from the 3 point line.
You have to hand it to Trish. She has built a program that is really on the cusp of domination in the Big Sky much like Robin Selvig did at UM.
Another thing. Addie Harris is a great player but she didn't have a big game. I think she only scored 4 points. Which goes to show you the depth that the Bobcats have this year. Honestly, I watched the men win over UM and while that was great to see, I just enjoy watching the women more because it is nonstop racing up and down the floor with pressure defense. Coach Bin can play this way because of her depth. You could tell that the Cat defense was making life absolutely miserable for the Lady Griz players. By the way, I really enjoyed seeing both teams huddle together at the end of the game, possibly for a post game prayer? I don't know whose idea this was but I always appreciate good sportsmanship. See you Monday night for another big game. Go Cats!

What I liked on Saturday and the last couple games is that she has finally gained confidence to take it all the way to the hoop or stop to take that short or mid jumper. She was reluctant at start of season to finish so she is showing nice growth there.84CatGrad wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 11:52 amJamison is shooting 3-29 (10.3%) on the year from three. As you note I’m not sure when or if she will be the great shooter from the arc…time will tell. But she is our best free throw shooter at 84% and the more she takes it to the hoop perhaps we see her at the line more….which is a good thing.
And I love her defense, her quickness, her willingness to assist….and for those who don’t follow stats that much she leads the team in assists and is second in steals behind only Taylee.
Great young lady if you happened to hear her talk at CatChat or FastBreak lunch last week!

No doubt in my mind that Jamison can improve her outside shot with an off-season to work on it, and she'll be an even more dangerous player when she does. Just look at Taylee as an example to follow, only 24% from 3 last year but this year she's up to a very respectable 36%.

Wow, I stand corrected! Thanks for that. One thing that I most rememer about Darian is how when the game was on the line she could take it to the hole and draw fouls and she was almost always money from the FT line. I have likewise been very impressed by Jamison's shooting from the FT line. I always thought it strange that you could be such a great shooter from the FT line yet not have a high percentage from three point. That was the case with Darian and from the stat you just gave is true with Jamison, at least to this point.84CatGrad wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 11:52 amJamison is shooting 3-29 (10.3%) on the year from three. On another subject, I noticed after the game that both teams gathered in a huddle. Possibly for prayer? Anyway it was certainly a good look and good sportsmanship. Both coaches are class acts that's for sure. It will be interesting to see how we do in Missoula. I remember last season we had blown them out by over 30 so when we played them in Boise I was expecting an easy game and of course it turned out to be a nail biter.

I really like Nate Harris. I hope he gets it going over there (except against us, of course). He's getting lambasted over on eToilet...I mean eGris.aucat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:10 pmOn another subject, I noticed after the game that both teams gathered in a huddle. Possibly for prayer?
