Actually 23 minutes was the most played by any player. 10 players played, and 15 minutes was the fewest for anyone. The average minutes played was only 20 (200 total minutes/10 players). #12 led the way with 23 points in only 21 minutes. Very impressive performance by the MSU women today. 4-0 against this gris now this school year, in the three major sports. So much winning!

I really want to watch this game (I listened to it on the radio broadcast instead as I’m in the UK and can’t watch ESPN+ etc). The Bobcats’ YouTube channel just uploaded a handful of recent games though, so that’ll keep me busy watching those retrospectively. Hopefully this game will be available soon too. I really want to see Jamison’s breakout game! More points than minutes is so impressive, especially for a freshman.

And every player scored points. Ella was the low scorer of the game but she had 8 boards! And it was so fun to watch Cadence out there. I sat three rows up from the court behind the Griz cheerleaders and you can just see the focus in her eyes when she's playing. And of course Jamison. She had several layups where she went up on the left side, and instead of switching to her left hand, she kept it in her right and put this reverse English on the ball with her finger roll. It was pretty.John K wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 11:52 pmActually 23 minutes was the most played by any player. 10 players played, and 15 minutes was the fewest for anyone. Fun game! I was in attendance, first Cat game I've been to for years as my wife has been an assistant on the Columbus girls team forever so we go to all those games. Great to see Jamison getting confident with her scoring. She's been doing everything else so well. Need to get her big sis back!

Good attendance, about 4200. More than double by quite a bit of the rest of the women’s games in the BSC.

She is obviously very passionate about Lady Griz BB but I will give her props about being passionate & knowledgeable about WBB overall. The down side is she rambles on about some topic through multiple possessions whereby Ben’s play by play is stifled. Kinda reminds me of that lady (Diana Lobbertail sp) who we had to suffer through for around a month a few seasons ago before Ian Laird took over. At least Grizta’s ramblings are fairly related to the game at hand.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 17, 2026 4:58 pmI will give her credit for being a Great Falls native. She also gave pretty good insight to Montanan connections for the players.

I just wish Krista would grow as an announcer out of her original stick. If you've heard her once you've heard enough to be able to know exactly what she's going to say almost regardless of what game she's calling. Good announcers evolve and grow; she's stuck with the same and same.

Re: WBB Brawl on Saturday
I was at the game so was not subject to Krista Grizpath but I didn't make it to the men's game so I watched it on TV. I don't seem to have any problem turning on the Cat broadcast on my Iphone then pausing the video so that I can sync them up. I tell you what, does Jamison Phillip look like a freshman? She is starting to look more like the great Darian White, except I think Jamison might be a better shooter from the 3 point line.
You have to hand it to Trish. She has built a program that is really on the cusp of domination in the Big Sky much like Robin Selvig did at UM.
Another thing. Addie Harris is a great player but she didn't have a big game. I think she only scored 4 points. Which goes to show you the depth that the Bobcats have this year. Honestly, I watched the men win over UM and while that was great to see, I just enjoy watching the women more because it is nonstop racing up and down the floor with pressure defense. Coach Bin can play this way because of her depth. You could tell that the Cat defense was making life absolutely miserable for the Lady Griz players. By the way, I really enjoyed seeing both teams huddle together at the end of the game, possibly for a post game prayer? I don't know whose idea this was but I always appreciate good sportsmanship. See you Monday night for another big game. Go Cats!

Rambles too much about irrelevant stuff. Who gives a rip about what happened when she was a gris playing against Portland. Neither she nor Portland were on the court yesterday. If it's not pertinent to the current game, it's irrelevant.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.

Ditto. I like the comment about “not growing”…she obviously knows the game and has played it but she seems unwillingly to change and grow as an announcer. I know it’s a part time “schtick” for her but if she can’t grow then get some other “young upcomer” in there and give him or her a shot.CatRowdy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 12:08 pmI just wish Krista would grow as an announcer out of her original stick. The thing about Redpath is that when she's calling Big Sky Tournament games that the Griz aren't playing in, I think she does a really nice job and is clearly very knowledgeable about the programs and players in the conference. But whenever the Griz are playing, she just can't help making it more about herself and her past as a former Griz player.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 5:04 pmDitto. It’s just matter of opinion but I am not impressed even when gris not playing. I just think you could do better. But again that’s just an opinion….somebody must like her because they keep bringing her back.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 5:48 pmThe thing about Redpath is that when she's calling Big Sky Tournament games that the Griz aren't playing in, I think she does a really nice job and is clearly very knowledgeable about the programs and players in the conference. Re: WBB Brawl on Saturday
Do they 'like' her or just stay with what is 'working?' The Griz had permeated the Big Sky conference with influence and I believe that's why she got the shot at calling games. Now, it's just easy to go with her, not search out a new voice or an "up & comer." As long as she does not say something wrong and keeps within the guidelines she will keep broadcasting for sometime.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 6:02 pmIt’s just matter of opinion but I am not impressed even when gris not playing. Re Ella…she also led the team in steals with 5, even exceeding Taylee and Jamison. Since 4 of her 8 rebounds were offensive boards…she essentially gave the team 9 extra offensive possessions herself. She had no turnovers and added a blocked shot too. Kinda an “unsung” effort! Way to go Ella!lutecat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:35 amAnd every player scored points. I remember a game a couple years when Kola Bad Bear helped the ESPN+ announcer with some color commentation of a ballgame and she did great job. Maybe they can hire her next year.

Yes Kola would be incredible for Cat griz and for the tournament. Only issue would be that she would likely go out of her way to be fair to everyone and provide great balanced color commentary, and wouldn't talk enough about how good the gris used to be.Bobcat Jim wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:48 pmI remember a game a couple years when Kola Bad Bear helped the ESPN+ announcer with some color commentation of a ballgame and she did great job. As long as Scripps has the game, you will hear Redpath on the Cat/griz call, and every Womens game at the tourney.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 8:00 pmYes Kola would be incredible for Cat griz and for the tournament. Re: WBB Brawl on Saturday
I liked that with Jamison. One of the Bobcat men did a similar thing in their game. One of my complaints in the past with the missed layups has been going “by the book” and continuing to use a weaker off hand when It’s not working. If it’s to your advantage to use your strong hand there is no shame in it. The scoreboard doesn’t care.lutecat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:35 amAnd every player scored points. Thanks for the spotlight on Ella. She’s often one of the leaders in +/-. Her presence around the basket lets Addison roam more. There are solid reasons that Ella is a starter.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:06 pmRe Ella…she also led the team in steals with 5, even exceeding Taylee and Jamison.
