Jamison is an awesome ball handler and I feel like she has a feel for when she needs to score. Natalie i feel like could be a flashy scorer but could have games like she did last night where shes 2 for quite a few. Natalie it seems to me, maybe takes the edge in ball handling. She's really fluid when she goes between her legs or behind her back. Jamison has the better crossover. I think it was her last night that crossed over one of the griz and it was awesome!

Okay I'm way over my skis here as I don't think it's easy to read what runs through a sophomores mind; but venturing a guess I think Picton largely decided to go in the portal after Coach Binford brought Esma in last year. I think Natile believed she earned the starting point guard position when she had to play her freshman year. When the the staff brought in Esma and Natilie went to coming off the bench I don't think it sat well. I'm guessing that made her decide to look for a team that she would have a somewhat guaranteed starting position. Who knows where she would have been this year on our team, but she would have had to earn it and that's the way it should be.

I agree with this.

Picton felt like a really important character/personality on the team. She was always the joker and a really fun member of the team, and I sensed she was very popular and charismatic. But I’m not convinced that the coaching staff gave her the guaranteed starting spot that she (perhaps understandably) expected, whether it was last year or this year.

I’m just glad that her departure hasn’t hurt too much, if at all. It’s great watching the youngsters step up.

She leads Sac in scoring and probably minutes...so she most likely got what she wanted. Everybody wins...especially the Cats!

Agree, this appears to have been a transfer that worked out well for both sides. MSU has found its point guard of the future in Jamison Philip and Picton gets to play a ton for Sac State. Hopefully when the Bobcats play Sac, Natalie misses a lot more than she makes!

Natalie was never going to be the starting PG last year. She was only the starting PG as a freshman because Dylan was injured. Had Esme not come in Dylan would've started at PG.

As I said, I think she felt she 'earned' the starting role; I never said she would start.
