Great win! I’m starting to wonder if this team is as good as last year’s.
They aren't as good as last year. They're better.
I agree. Better.
And there’s not a senior in the bunch! Plus 2 highly touted recruits coming in next year. If Bin keeps this team together they will log a lot of wins over the next few years.
Just open up our check books a little more to help retain players so “we” can help Coach Binford keep most of the team intact for a couple more years…as well as adding quality recruits. Watching them play quality opponents like last night you can tell a couple of them are going to get some offers!
Chirrick could be playing anywhere in the country right now. Time to pony up.

The downside of playing teams like Colorado, Oregon, and Oregon State in non-conference play is that those opposing coaches will get a first-hand look at players like Chirrick and Harris, whose younger brother is a big-time recruit and recently committed to Iowa. I didn't think that there was any chance that this year's team would actually be better than last year's after losing Morales, Martin, Janssen, Dykstra, Deden, and Picton but here we are. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of watching the team play this year and trust that Coach Bin can continue her phenomenal run of recruiting success to fill in any gaps on the roster that may open up in the off-season.

I agree with everything you said. I too was wandering how we would compete with the significant losses from last years 30 win season..…and I admit I kinda felt maybe a top 4 finish was best we could do while we “rebuilt” for a year….but after watching 5 games so far, I’m a bit more optimistic.

Let me build on the “opening the checkbook” comment I made in a previous post above. We don’t have a Phil Knight that can fill the coffers for WBB at MSU and we can probably never aspire to pay the kids what big schools can offer…. but the ability to make a solid offer to help kids stay at a quality FCS program with a positive culture can go a long way!! Each of you can probably come up with a number you think would be appropriate to help retain 12 to 15 good WBB players at MSU….I’ll not share my thoughts on that number but will share one thing that would have a big benefit right now.

At the close of last season one donor stepped up to say they would match $1 for $1 anybody who donates to the WBB collective at MSU up to $100,000. I will tell you that we did not raise enough money to even receive the entire match! But the donor says they will keep it open until we can fulfill the match. So right now we continue to work hard to raise an additional $20,000 funds to get the match! Any little bit will help. You can do the math on what $200,000 would provide the coach in ability to help stipend the team this year…it’s a pittance compared to any up level school but it can go a long way in saying to a young lady “we want you here and here is something to help!”

Agree 100% with everything here! The WBB program is very much deserving of as much financial support as they can get to help give them the best possible chance of keeping this amazing group of players around for 4 years.

How do you donate to the women’s collective? Does it go through the Bobcat Collective?

I agree this program deserves a lot of support.

When you donate through the Bobcat Collective you can specify that your donation goes to one specific sport if you choose to do so (football, men's BB, women's BB, or volleyball).

Fun fact...looking up the UNLV head coach it looks like she played at Stanford and would've played a couple years with Jocelyn Tinkle.
Lindy LaRocque is a Vegas native and comes from a strong basketball family. She comes by it honestly. Her father, Al, is a HS coaching legend here in Vegas. Al played for Lute Olson, if I recall correctly. Never had to coach against him, personally -- thankfully.

Harris and Chirrick led us, but Teagan Erickson easily had her best game with 13 pts, 10 rebs. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

And 5 of those rebounds were defensive and 5 were offensive! She’s quick, fiesty and can jump.

Just watched the Griz/BYU game and it's like they're playing in slow motion compared to how fast the Bobcats play.
